This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

"Do not go gentle into that good night,"
If your time comes today, your time to walk away, hold your head high and be proud of what you've done and how you worked as a valued member of a team - whether it be Administration, Advertising, Editorial, Production, etc - to produce something that mattered to the community, every single day of your years of service. Thank you so much for helping me, and allowing me to help you when I could.
Over the last 4-5 months, we've all been working our asses off together, fighting through the changes and trying to get more done with less. And by God, we've done it, we've damn well done it, and done it together. How proud we should all be of each other in just these accomplishments alone. So don't allow what is happening now to taint the good times we've had, the fun we've all had in working every day trying to knock out another edition.
"Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
I'm sure many of you will feel hurt and blindsided by what is happening, and you have a right to be angry. Mad as Hell!!!!
But don't forget that your friends didn't abandon you to this fate, those of us who are left now are angry too. We are angry for you while also wondering aloud how unfair it is. We were just lucky enough to avoid it ourselves this time around.
Could I ask for first post to move to the front of the blog page, please? This post wasn't about DC but Fort Worth really. Our pain begins bright and early. Thanks.
Anon 10:23 Although I agree with you, given today could be a big lay-off day, the poets rant is like having that last cigarette before the MNI firing squad, led by some dude named Che, comes out to greet you.

You may be gone, but you will not be forgotten.
