A tipster tells me McClatchy's DC bureau will get hit with layoffs, as early as this coming week. No word on the numbers.
About time. The DC bureau avoided taking a hit the last rounds of company wide layoffs, other than normal attrition. Most readers of this blog think the DC bureau should get its share of layoffs, same as everybody else. Click here to see poll results.

Yeah, and there's a tooth fairy. I'll believe it when I see it.
This just in: Any McClatchy DC bureau layoffs have been promised jobs with the Obama administration.
Loyalty is to be rewarded.
9:41 -- or the Huffington Post.
The Huffington Post doesn't pay its writers - it's all freebie or for the glory. Of course, our DC boys and girls really don't deserve a salary after the unprofessional and unethical job they've done the past couple of years.
I can't really share the joy about putting anyone out of work.
“I can't really share the joy about putting anyone out of work.”

Dishonest journalists, losing their dishonorable outlet, should make one confident that all is not lost. Feeling sorry for elitist clods that cannot begin to know the meaning of integrity, illustrates the ignorant lumping of the bad with the good. Perhaps a total housecleaning is needed.
The MNI DC bureau is a corrupt farce for factual news reporting. Even the NYT’s has been forced to look at the Messiah in a harsher light, but not McClatchy. Why would MNI hang on to its weakest link? Yesterday a poster wrote that Hamas is in the mix. A year ago, I would have scoffed at such a statement. Believe me, I no longer take any remark at face value. Not asking the pertinent questions cost me my job, if not my career.
The liberals are trying to jam the Huffington Post down our throats as the NEW media. An example of the HP’s real news value became clear when they recently published a phony photo shopped video. The bloggers were all over that, and a HP mea culpa was issued within hours. Not long ago a liberal rag would have gotten away with garbage like that. The ADN made a habit of junk reporting, but alas, times are in a flux of ‘Change you can believe in.’ Man, I hope the smoke and mirrors of murky journalism dies with the dinosaurs.
This just in: The Republicans lost not because of the media, but because they sucked at governing.
Blame McClatchy all you want, but it won't change the conservative movement's losing streak. If we conservatives want to come back we've got to start offering up some useful solutions and dump the Rush Limbaugh wing of the party post haste. The Christian loons, too.
Americans are naturally conservative, but the past eight years haven't had much to do with the movement's traditional virtues.

The joker says, “If [we] conservatives want to come back”
Bwhahahaha
BTW: Since Pinocchio’s teleprompter attacked Rush Limbaugh, he has gained a million more listeners. I think the MSM is adding that fact to the news suppression list that also skips reporting on the Tea Party protests.
As long as that bloated idiot is the face of the party, we're getting nowhere.
I think a third-party with more moderate, common-sense views (both Repubs and Dems) can be far more effective than far right and far left nutjobs. A charismatic nominee just might surprise Obama come election day.
No doubt there is some money to be saved there, but you dumbasses claiming major inaccuracy are off base. Name it. Go ahead.
They were about the only ones around who had the guts to call BS on the WMD before the invasion.
Where's the WMD?
The very meaning of partisan political prattling is that you're wrong at least half the time, whether youre on the right or the left.
I can't believe all the fools here who think that democracy will function better with only silly lies on bulletin boards like this.
Government and big business are going to eat you simple-minded fools alive.
