Flashback: DUI defendant Rhonda Lokeman mocked Lindsay Lohan in 2007 for drinking too much

Here's an excerpt from a 2007 Rhonda Lokeman column where she mocks Lindsay Lohan for underage drinking:
For some folks, age brings wisdom. For others, age brings more whiskey.
Lokeman is twice the age of Lohan but we can debate how much wisdom Lokeman has. BTW, Lokeman's court date for DUI and Refusing a blood alcohol test is today.

UPDATE: Justin Kendall reports Lokeman's court date had been moved up to April 3, and the judge reinstated Lokeman's driving privileges.

Betcha not a single blogger shows up and has the guts to ask her about her DWI in person. But there'll be plenty of anonymous sniping on the net.

Of course, the judge might be riled if a blogger showed up in court wearing pajamas. Do these unemployed no-lifers own any other clothes?

The real question is whether or not there will be any "journalists" there. Perhaps no one from The Star knows about this.

Lokeman mocked Lohan because the former is a RACIST!

She is a private individual, not a politician nor public official. Her legal problems are not news worthy. It's only important to petty bloggers.

Thank you for once again demonstrating why bloggers have become more important to society than newspapers.

7:30 AM Straight Bullshit. She is the celebrated and revered racist columnist promoted and touted by the KC Star as a member of it's editorial board. She was placed right out front by the same as a PUBLIC FIGURE and a NATIONALLY SYNDICATED Columnist by her HUSBAND the PUBLISHER.

You can't have it both ways. Her court docket is a matter of PUBLIC RECORD and therefore, it absolutely is NEWSWORTHY.

The funny part is, even the low lifes at the KC Star were forced to admit it when she was finally caught.

7:30 ... Lindsey Lohan is not a politician or public official, either.

7:43 am - You assume a lot.

There is no assumption in 7:43's post. Rhonda Lokeman was indeed promoted as a columnist and member of the Star's Editorial Board. - Public Figure

Rhonda Lokeman was promoted as a Nationally Syndicated Columnist by both the Star and her Husband personally - Public Figure

Rhonda Lokeman's arrest and subsequent hearings and trial are Public proceedings - Fact

Derreck Donovan, Star Rep and Part time sales girl, after attempting to deny public release of her arrest was forced the same day to retract his position and finally admit that she was indeed a public figure and the story was indeed newsworthy.

I read no assumptions at all. Just facts. Working for the Star though, I am sure that word is only considered as subjective.

The video that shows Lokeman in handcuffs, sitting in a paddy wagon, with two other arrested men is mind-blowing. Then when she speaks in this gibberish, it seems like she is out of her mind. How drunk do you have to be to not know you are driving on three tires? I think this episode goes beyond her just being drunk. Her rambling columns verged with a person unhinged with hatred.

Not all of us live in KC. Please explain why Lokeman is a racist.

Any more news about Boise and how the layoffs have affected The Statesman?

FYI to all the insensitive slobs who are vilifying this person, alcoholism is a DISEASE. Do you treat someone who has diabetes this way?

Anonymous said...

So lokeman is a racist, alcoholic. Is racism a disease too?

Oh, I forgot, lokeman is a VICTIM

Anonymous said...

Alcoholism is not a disease, it is self inflicted.

8:47 You can't cure diabetes by going to a 12 step program. You don't choose to be a diabetic. The analogy is simply ridiculous.

"Derreck Donovan, Star Rep and Part time sales girl"

Percious, absolutely precious. You've obviously met MAdam Stalin.

Alcoholism is a disease. You don't "cure" it by a 12-step program, either.

Anonymous said...

It isn't a disease. That is the propaganda put out to "remove the stigma" and make money on treatment by bringing it under the insurance umbrella. Saying it is a disease is a scam.

It is a weakness that you either quit, or not.

Why is it that we're insensitive slobs for teasing Rhoda for something that just occurred when The STar just tarred one of the leading reform candidates in Wyandotte County with a 25 year old drug conviction? There is no indication, or even suggestion, that the same behavior is being engaged in today.

But I guess that's OK, because they're pimping for corruption, as they always do. I can only wonder what Kansas City would be like if we had an honest newspaper instead of this rapidly declining rag.

Spare us the crocodile tears of sympathy. The Star has waged more outright hate campaigns than Der Sturmer.

Right. And I bet depression just requires an attitude adjustment, right?

Some of you people live in the dark ages.

Rhonda’s ‘Sir Yes Sir’ crap is typical of her low class behavior. She probably thought that was cute, like lying about her weight. Earth to Rhonda roly-poly, I doubt you were ever cute, even fifty pounds ago. The man in the police van with you thought your were cute in your handcuffs, you better savor that compliment.

Trust the Red Scar to keep the photo of their diseased person on their site.

No one tops Lokeman in penning hatred, her dripping hate for Condi Rice is well documented.
[dirty mistresses] Rhonda is diseased all right.

The beast wrote: “Secretary of State Condi Rice to meet openly with the Syrian foreign minister in Egypt. But then Rice refused to be photographed with him. Isn't that always the case with [dirty mistresses?] Good enough to bed but not to wed.”

Anyone making excuses for the disgusting Lokeman could not be familiar with her writing. She was fired from newspapers after just a few columns. Even liberals have a limit to accepting her sort of insane diatribes. Without affirmative action, and her marriage to the publisher, she would be nowhere, but of course she got back to her true roots by herself.

To 9:46 from 8:47

Thanks for the voice of reason.

To 10:13, if only it were that easy.

Anonymous said...

No one said it was easy to quit. It can actually be life threatening to try for a truly dedicated, long term drunk.

That doesn't make it a disease. Nor does all the propaganda trying to convince people to consider it one. Sniffing paint, doing drugs, over eating and drinking like a fish. Not one of these things are a disease. Trying to make it out to be one is simply replacing a crutch with a crutch.

1:52 You are incorrect, and I'll try to explain why and hope that one of your virtues is an open mind that is willing to learn. There is a physiological response in the brains of addicts that is different than that of other people. This is more likely to be inherited than acquired. I say this not to defend anyone's actions, but just to point out that some people are out of control not through choice of free will, but because of the disease of addiction. As for permanently quitting with ANY type of program or treatment -- the odds are about 2 in 10 to succeed.

Anonymous said...

3:45... if your stats are correct and she has a disease then we can assume she has not been cured yet and should not be driving a car.

However, the judge gave her back her driving privilege even though she refused the test. This is putting others in danger and is irresponsible for both the judge and Rhonda.

-------------
Junk Science to justify the desired outcome of turning addiction into a cash cow.

Since the beginning of man we have been prone to addictions, some more than others. Call it a genetic defect if you like, but it is not a disease. Well, unless of course you're willing to throw homosexuality in there too. You won't though because that doesn't fit your template.

How many other so-called "diseases" are 100 percent preventable and can never be transmitted from one person to another?

Anonymous said...

Hopefully stupidity and right-wing conservatism are among them. How great it would be to have a world free of these diseases.
