How's that $5, er um, .50 cent firewall holding up?

Pru will dust off his worn out cliches about "this challenging environment" and "making the transition to a hybrid news company" and "painful goodbyes to friends and colleagues."

Whew, massive short covering at the end of the day. Close the books on this one, she's all bleed out.

Maybe we should help the Pru pick just the right tune?

I blame Gary Pruitt for Gannett's problems. That's how bad he is!

Pruitt:

"our profits are up in the area of ONLINE, but that should change since I eliminated most of those jobs during the first quarter of this year"

he will add:

"so I will have to come up with some other sort of bullshit during my presentation of how online is making money after the next quarter, but I have three months to work on that"
