Lucianne.com has a must see graphic entitled 'HUGOBAMA.' At first I thought it was humorous, and then realized it is far from a laughting matter. A good comment from Democrats that attented the tea parties was, "What have we done?"

Napolitano regrets anger
over intelligence report
Associated Press
-----
Butch sees fit to call Americans terrorists yet called the 9-11 terrorists foreign combatants. Yeah right, she doesn’t regret the words, just that there is anger aimed at her. Releasing that report just ahead of the tea parties was a planned attack on Americans. The press should have been all over the shoddy report, and the timing of the release. Instead, the corrupt media did all they could to disenfranchise the American people’s right to protest. The end of media corruption can’t come too soon.

Ad Revenue at NY Times Co. Expected To Drop More than 20%

Posted on Sunday, April 19, 2009
First quarter advertising revenue at The New York Times Co. is expected to be down 24%, estimates J.P. Morgan research analysts Alexia Quadrani and Monica DiCenso.

The New York Times is reporting its quarterly earnings on Tuesday April 21.

Earnings per share are forecasted to fall almost 77% to 3 cents in Q1 -- in line with consensus, the research firm said in a note released this afternoon.

As its peers Gannett and Media General did this week, executives with the New York Times are likely to emphasize the progress on cost reductions during the call.

The Olympian and The News Tribune begin the consolidation Monday. What's left of the FOUR copy desk folks at the Olympian will move to the News Tribune offices. All that's left in the Olympian newsroom will be 16 people. That's down from 47 approximately 18 months ago.
The sections of the News Tribune and Olympian will have the same fonts, displays, etc. Should be interesting how Monday goes.

Ah, the price of choosing to be political hacks instead of legitimate journalists.

Newsweek to turn new page with relaunch

Recycling bins overspilling with paper greet visitors to Newsweek magazine’s New York headquarters.

On top of one heap is a copy of Red Herring, a magazine that burst with advertising during the internet bubble but is no longer in print.

“Do you remember these guys?” asks one Newsweek employee. The magazine’s stewards now worry whether readers wonder the same of them.

(Um, we won't, go play in cuba)

Newsroom Employment Drops to Lowest Level Since 1978
By Jennifer Saba

NEW YORK Newsroom employment at newspapers has plunged 11.3% in 2008, with the industry losing some 5,900 jobs, according to the American Society of News Editors (ASNE).

It's the biggest drop the organization has recorded since it first started conducting its newsroom employment survey in 1978.

The number of jobs losses more than doubled in 2008 compared with 2007 when the industry shed 2,400 jobs.

The number of newsroom jobs is now at a level last seen during the early 1980s.

Newspaper may file Chapter 11 reorganization

By JAY STAPLETON

ORLANDO -- The News-Journal Corp. has hired a bankruptcy lawyer to explore reorganizing its debt as a way to sever ties with Cox Enterprises and keep the newspaper operating, a federal judge was told Thursday.

Bruce A. Hanna, an attorney representing the local newspaper company, told U.S. District Court Judge John A. Antoon II that News-Journal Corp. "has a very tough decision to make."

"A Chapter 11 reorganization," Hanna said, "could potentially allow The News-Journal to continue operating, thereby saving several hundred jobs."

Intellectual Property

We've had several folks bring up the topic of the alleged misuse of the intellectual property of establishment news sources. As luck would have it, CNN has tried to use that argument to scrub the videos (some not even their own) of their left-wing whack job Susan Roesgen's attacks on Tea Party protesters in Chicago.

The response by bloggers has been overwhelming as many blogs have imbedded the video in their own blogs while others have continued to post the videos on youtube faster than they can be pulled down.

Ironically, CNN goes out of its way to encourage bloggers to use CNN clips when they perceive that the videos show their "reporters" in a good light.

Fire Susan Roesgen.

John,

I thought conservatives respected the rule of law. You just do what you feel, don't you. I never cared for hippies.

4:08 You must have seen my picture. I am an old hippie who realizes how authoritarian liberalism is. And, I believe in both the rule of law and civil disobedience.

Liberals tend to think they're above the law and that it doesn't apply to them. I realize that the law applies to me and when I violate it (like when I frequently break traffic laws) I am prepared to pay the price for my rebellious nature.

Thank you for noticing.

Copyright is a law that applies to you. But you pick and choose what you want to obey because you're so darn rebellious.

Congratulations: You're the oldest living teenager.
