the the Boise-Phoenix prison matron is now a metro guru (she is?) then we need another update: how about the Boise prison warden whose TC debate moderator debut was met with national howls of derision. (look on her linked in page for her take on this.)
is she spreading her brand of love in Des Moines? MNI took a pass on her, as had Nashville, when they didn't hire her.

The AJC tries to save themselves by offering a more balanced editorial page. The inner-city liberal subscribers are just not enough to keep any newspaper afloat. Odd they admit to needing balanced columnists now that they are in dire straits. They may have a chance, but McClatchy and other newspapers that cling to their liberal slant will go down in a whimper of denial. Cling on, blind ones, cling on!

Journal-Constitution editorial page expected to be more balanced under new team

Atlanta Unsheltered
The editorial page changes announced Monday by the Journal-Constitution were made "to mollify conservative, suburban readers.

I think it's funny how The State raised prices for news stands to .75 daily and 2.00 on sunday but failed to mention it to any of the employees........

'Media Malpractice' using their own words.- The book and documentary are just the beginning of the many sources that will record what really happen during the last election. “Witness the Death of Journalism” - McClatchy is gasping, but past history reveals there is little hope for the survival of dinosaurs.

‘Media Malpractice’
HOW OBAMA GOT ELECTED and PALIN WAS TARGETED
By John Ziegler
Witness the Death of Journalism
Documentary filmmaker John Ziegler has woven together a compelling story using the mainstream media's own words to show how their malpractice achieved new heights in this election and influenced the narrative of the campaign. Carefully analyzing thousands of hours of media footage from the past two years, Ziegler paints a stunning portrait of media malpractice that is undeniable.

There are posters at several blogs that say their newspapers are conducting a “stealth round of layoffs.” Saying their papers combined departments, and employees that were not part of the recorded round of layoffs, later went missing one by one. One poster said he felt like there was a sniper in the building. I can’t image working under these conditions.

Someone here said that was going to start happening during the last round of layoffs. We either have a prophet or a disgruntled manager hanging out.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution admits their biased slant is not working to save their paper, thus their jobs. Can McClatchy be far behind? Of course they are, Pruitt seems the type that would rather see MNI come to an end, than admit the present crisis is due to his poor management, and the fact that the product reeks of dishonesty.

It is clear from the layoffs at The Star that there is no concern for saving The Star and turning it into a viable newspaper.

If they were concerned with being an ongoing news gathering organization frills and dead weight like the editorial division and losers like their phony "reader's" rep would be gone and their quality journalists saved like the treasured resources they are. Didn't happen.

The ideologues remain, the whores to the establishment remain and the people who actually would be useful to a real newspaper are being let go.

To do otherwise would be to admit that they were wrong to begin with and are the authors of their own demise and that won't happen.

John -- the Star's motto: "When in danger, when in doubt, run and scream, jump and shout."

This is a new media plan to watch. I hope they make it work.

Former P-I journalists launch online news site
Laid-off Seattle Post-Intelligencer journalists today launched a non-profit online news site, Seattlepostglobe.org.

Seattlepostglobe.org has little money — about $3,000, with another $3,000 pledged. "We're working as volunteers now," Murakami said.

The site expects to rely to a great extent on reader donations. Murakami said the goal is to get 8,000 people to pledge $10 a month to help pay full-time, part-time or freelance staff.

Lewis Diuguid's latest drivel. Really aren't you glad you're reading this instead of a real news story?

And remember, Lewis is a "socialist" (nod, nod, wink, wink).

Love your post! Now this is true capitalism!

Do they have a product? (maybe). And will their Marxist sheeple pay for it? (Never, Marxists donation habits are poor, as they are weaned to suck on the gov. teat.

That is what I was thinking, but, the plan could well be to get some special interest grants in exchange for propaganda, a Sugar Daddy ala Soros, or even better TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES!

Nurse Laid Off in Middle of Surgery
“This isn't media related, but for all journalists who get handed the bad news while in the office, remember, it could be worse.

A registered nurse working for Dean Health System in Madison, Wis., found out that she was among 90 employees being laid off by getting the pink slip in the middle of surgery, according to a story by Dee J. Hall in the Wisconsin State Journal.”
