Little Joun Edwards still making the news, the Democrats and their news organs can’t keep his creepiness under the carpet any longer. They tried, they tried!

The selfishness of John Edwards
By Matt Mackowiak
May 8, 2009
The steep descent of former U.S. Sen. John Edwards (D- N.C.), a two-time presidential candidate and the 2004 Democratic nominee for vice president, is a sad tale of deception. Rarely in the history of American politics has a politician risen so far, so fast only to fall purely as a result of his own selfishness, ego, dishonesty and vanity.

-No Bailout for Newspapers: Dinosaurs, Meet Capitalism and the First Amendment-

US News & World Report
by John Aloysius Farrell

True story. Several years ago, a Senate press secretary called to tell me he was leaving the Hill for more lucrative corporate PR work. He was chuckling on the phone, for he had just informed a coworker of mine at the Boston Globe that he would be joining us in the private sector, and my colleague responded—sincerely!—by saying, "We don't work in the private sector." How is that for a self-fulfilling prophecy?

There are several more articles about the Edwards’ family again today. Once the corrupt MSM turned on John, it turned, but too little to late to look credible to anyone.

Here are a couple of ‘Anonymous’ comments from clever bloggers:
“Wasn't Edwards just a one term junior senator with no leadership experience and a liberal voting record anyway? Who would elect a guy like that president?”

“Are you saying that John Edwards was merely one Kenyan parent shy of being a messiah?”

(Boston) Globe boss expects more jobs cuts in the near future

globe "Layoffs or staff reductions or force reductions are probably part of the way we operate this newspaper for at least the foreseeable future. ...But we can't cut ourselves to success.

No business can," says Globe publisher Steven Ainsley. He also says: * "I've asked every person in this building to make enormous personal sacrifices in the name of this institution. That's hard to do."

* "We do have to have healing. We've got to get to the point that we're comfortable with the notion that these type of sacrifices that the company has asked of all of us are worth it."

* "With some irony, it's been energizing to fully understand how important we are to the (Marxist)community."

DEAN GIVES REASON FOR MARXISTS TO MASTERBATE

CNBC Contributor Howard Dean: 'I Think We Had Quite Enough Capitalism'

Back in March, CNBC in what seemed to be an effort to pander to critics on the left, officially named former DNC chair and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean a CNBC contributor. But aside from campaigning for left-wing MoveOn.org causes in his spare time, Dean will appear on daily CNBC programming. But on the May 7 "Power Lunch," Dean, a contributor for the network with the slogan,

"First in Business Worldwide," explained to viewers we've had enough capitalism after conservative radio talk show host Jason Lewis derided the president for supporting bailouts over bankruptcy.

Dean's statement is not an original, and, alas, he neglects to cite the source of his quote:

Nikolai Lenin, 1917, paraphrasing the social philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, from their writings, late nineteenth century.

Lenin, it will be remembered, went on to act as unofficial midwife and founder of record for what is arguably history’s finest experiment in anti-capitalist culture, the Soviet Union - later to serve as a model for Communist China, Cuba, and others.

Dean is right, of course; why enjoy a thriving economy and a culture of plenty, when you can have endless bread lines and cardboard shoes.

What Dean does not understand is that liberalism/socialism needs Capitalism in a parasitic relationship or liberalism dies or is on life support forever.

Just look at the UAW or the boston globe's guilds.

Journalism Associations Forced to Re-examine Role as Membership Declines

In a reflection of the turmoil in the news industry, organizations such as the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) and the American Society of News Editors (ASNE) are seeing fewer checks in the mail and more empty seats in convention halls. Membership has dropped by as much as 20 percent, according to an informal survey of 12 of the 40 or 50 journalism associations in the U.S. Convention attendance is just as bad.

On my American plains I feel the struggling afflictions
Endur'd by roots that writhe their arms into the nether deep:
I see a serpent in Canada, who courts me to his love;
In Mexico an Eagle, and a Lion in Peru;

-Survey: 22 Percent of Internet Users Ditch Newspaper-
By Andrew Vanacore

The findings add some dimension to industry figures released showing newspapers losing circulation faster than ever. Average newspaper sales tumbled 7.1 percent in the six months from October to March from the same period a year earlier, according to an Audit Bureau of Circulations analysis of newspapers that had reported in both periods.

Could some informed intellient SACBEE writer please answer a simple question for me?? Earlier this week, SACBEE ran a 1/3 page article, with picture, about a Palestinian farmer on the West Bank who has started to produce an Italian style cheese. His curing room is about the same size as our small home bathroom. I could count in the picture, 36, I repeat 36 small rolls of cheese on shelves to age. Now, there is no chance any will ever reach any store in this country, and there are small cheese makers all over the world.

Sacramento and California are both in a doomsday critical condition. State government is so corrupt it oozes scum, the state pension funds are now tied in with the same corruption as New York pension funds are uncovering, the Sacramento area sits with over 24,000 vacant apartments and homes, voters will turn down at least 4 of the 5 initiatives in the election in two weeks calling for more irresponsible funding to run the state and I could go on and on. The only initiative to pass is the one to limit legislatures pay, etc. My question is why waste 1/3 page for such a none story when everything within 2blocks of the SACBEE plant is falling apart or has fallen apart and they can't find any of the corruption or the corruptees and never have. Does anyone need any additional reason/s why they are irrelevant anymore. For those who may not know or care, California is totally run by Democrats and labor unions control the Democrats. Is that why SACBEE can't seem to uncover anything??

It's just a question!!

“…their day is ending…still stuck in rescue mode."

-Coll: I don't think there's anything magical about a newsroom, but…-
Wordyard.com
"Embedded in the newsroom is a system of independent reporting and investigation and witnessing," and the public has an interest in seeing that survive, former Washington Post managing editor Steve Coll said at a panel discussion. Scott Rosenberg writes: "The good news was that the event, titled 'What Comes After Newspapers?,' really [didn't waste a lot of time asking, 'How do we save newspapers?'] but largely [accepted that their day is ending.] You might think this is obvious, but [too many of these gatherings today are still stuck in rescue mode."]

Anon 11:47 Great, great Question!!!
Their agenda is not about us here in America, is it?

If you don't think that what happens in Palestine -- or anywhere else in the world, for that matter -- affects the USA, then you are sadly out of touch and shouldn't think of yourself as a well-informed citizen.

Speaking of sadly out of touch, the whole point just zipped right over your head, didn't it.
