John in Carolina to shut down

I'm sorry to hear that John in Carolina is closing his blog down. His career has taken a new turn, and he won't have the time to keep publishing his blog. I read JinC several times a week and linked to his blog many times. John says he has a few more posts on the News & Observer's coverage of the Duke case before calling it quits on Thursday.

None of the lefty lynch mob in Durham wants to hear about the Lacrosse Hoax. I don't blame them. Duke sure wishes people would move on and stop thinking about how they threw their own students under the politically correct bus that masqueraded as justice in Durham and how they cooperated with the frame. The profs who congratulated the protesters who demanded "equal justice" and castration should all be wearing bags on their heads out of shame that someone might recognize them. The race/class/gender trinity should all want the Lacrosse Hoax to go away since they never looked so bad as during their rush to judgment in this case.
This case is a long way from over as both Durham and Duke will face their day in court and may have to actually come clean about how they worked together to harm students who were utterly innocent of the charges.
Light is a disinfectant and Durham and Duke need a big dose.

Just to stay on point here... the McClatchy paper in Raleigh facilitated the hoax with their over the top, hyperbolic pursuit of the Lacrosse players and their suppression of relevant facts. One of the N&O reporters ultimately did outstanding work on the story digging for the truth, but Melanie Sill disgraced herself on this one.
Melanie's history is highly relevant as it goes to character, leadership and competence.
