Ann Arbor News to publish final edition July 23 (Breitbart)

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The Ann Arbor News plans to publish its last newspaper July 23, with a twice-weekly online-focused operation taking its place.

Publisher Laurel Champion announced the date Thursday in an e-mail to employees. The News reported in March it would cease publication after 174 years because of steep revenue losses

Will MNI simply go to Codepink's or Moveon.org's web site for suitable candidates?

Ann Arbor said the newspaper closure will eliminate 214 jobs. Seventy workers previously accepted buyout offers.

AnnArbor.com officials have said they probably will hire some current staffers but have not said how many.

Of course they need a writer to cover Robins AFB. BRAC is coming up and they have to do what they can to hide the corruption at Robins AFB.

After all, Gene Rector must be busy hiding all he can, so he'll need another writer to help him. People like me just won't let the Telegraph have peace and quiet.

The Defense contractors at Robins AFB have ties to the media, politicians and lobbyists. It's a great deal...you know...getting the media to shut up about the corruption...getting earmarks from your favorite politician...getting lobbyists to use their influence with people like Murtha and Cramer...what a deal!

It won't surprise me if they hire a former general of Robins AFB to write the stories. A contractor hired one to lobby for them and the Georgia politicians are dependent on that person to raise funding for them. Of course, the Defense contractor that hired him is also a top donor to the politicians.

Such a nice little good old boy network they have going.
