At Gannett Blog, Jim Hopkins seems to be shutting down his blog. The trolls there have unmercifully attacked him until it was too painful to read the comments. The personal attacks in the name of free speech have done what the weasel posters planned for their little games to destroy the enemy.

It appears they have taken aim on McClatchy Watch, and unless they are held in check, they will ruin this blog also. They have reduced this blog to one of egos instead of opinions. If personal attacks are not allowed, after one warning the poster should be banned. Why can’t this be a conservative blog without constant attacks from leftist trolls? There are literally thousands of leftist blogs for them, but they choose to ruin this one. This is how they work, but why do they have to succeed?

The lefties are staying on their destruction plan:
Alinsky's Rule #8. Never let up. Keep the heat on. Keep them off balance.

Corporate McClatchy will cheer the end of the Gannett Blog. It would not surprise me if pieces of silver crosses the palms of the trolls. In the Socialist government that is upon us, the employees of McClatchy cannot have a voice. Surely employees have started to see the pattern of news suppression and slight of hand politics that has been foisted upon many moderate rank and file Democrats. It is one thing to close your eyes for a time, but to remain silent because you once supported a puff of smoke is the real threat to the USA, MOO.

The last time I read the Gannett Blog, I could not believe the venom heaped upon Jim. It is so ironic that the very people who scream tolerance from others, seemingly decided it was all right to discredit him because of his sexual preferences. The trolls used any means to shut him down. The comments had nothing to do with the issues, that I could detect. One of the main troll themes was that the remaining Gannett employees were disloyal if they read any news at the blog. Think about that for awhile.

["one of the worst-timed statements in the history of public relations."] The NYT company is beyond help.

-Maybe it's time for NYT to limit Tom Friedman's travel-
True/Slant

In the New Yorker profile of Carlos Slim, Times columnist Tom Friedman makes what Michael Roston calls ["one of the worst-timed statements in the history of public relations."] While the Times struggles, Friedman says he's able to [go wherever he wants] and [let the paper deal with the expenses.] "And he's insinuating that his boss doesn't really care," adds Roston.

Prof: Media critics don't need journalistic training-
"I think it's legitimate for people who don't necessarily have journalistic training to criticize the techniques of journalism."

"We write about doctors and we're not doctors," says Christopher Harper, who recently wrote about media critics. "I think it's legitimate for people who don't necessarily have journalistic training to criticize the techniques of journalism. They might be wrong in their analysis, but I think that any traditional technique of gathering information or journalistic practice is certainly open to criticism."
