This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Poll: 65% say daily newspapers will be gone in 10 years
A McClatchy poll says 10 years. A more realistic poll (If there is such a thing) would guess 3 years. Even if the economy improves, the product is damaged goods. Did these Teleprompter voters think people that don’t pay their taxes would support them with their money? Bwhahahahaha

Ten years seems like an awfully long time to wait considering their rate of decline in ad revenue, readership, and subscriptions.
10 years? More likely the bulk of them will be gone within 2 or 3 years.
Some of the better managed ones like the Wall Street Journal may successfully make the transition to a pure online format.
Most will not even manage that transition and will fail completely.
New media companies will rise from the ashes to fill the void.
