Report: newspapers have lost $18 billion in revenue in the past 3 years

A new study published in MediaDailyNews shows newspapers have lost an estimated $18.7 billion from 2006 through 2008. The calculations are based on annual and quarterly figures from the Newspaper Association of America. Click here for the full story.




Hard to fathom. But then, compared to the $80 billion auto bailout the politicians are talking about, $18 billion doesn't seem like that much.

Editor sacked over 'hoax' photos BBC 14 May, 2004

Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan has been sacked after the newspaper conceded photos of British soldiers abusing an Iraqi were fake.

In a statement the Mirror said it had fallen victim to a "calculated and malicious hoax" and that it would be "inappropriate" for Morgan to continue.
