This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

White House cheerleaders put down pom poms and stand as Obama enters the room (video)
OK, you can't exactly see the pom poms in this video. But it's pretty obvious these White House reporters have a school girl crush on Obama.
Hat tip: Gateway Pundit (thanks to a tip from John Altevogt)
BusinessWeek is in the worst shape of the three. Its advertising pages fell 16% in 2008, according to data from industry research letter MIN. The magazine’s ad pages are down 38% this year through the end of April, and in the most recent issue, the drop was an extraordinary 63%.
The magazine has more than 220 editorial, support, and management personnel based on the BusinessWeek masthead. This does not include ad sales, production, or circulation staffs.
That is a large number of people to put out a magazine that often has fewer than 60 editorial pages and a website with less traffic than TheStreet.com based on March figures from online audience research firm comScore.
BusinessWeek online had 3.3 million unique visitors and 18 million pageviews. TheStreet.com, which has a larger monthly audience, had advertising sales of only $30 million in 2008, based on its 10-K, and that number certainly dropped in the first quarter of this year. That is probably a good benchmark for what BuinessWeek brings in for online advertising.
The Boston Newspaper Guild just released this statement.
“In respone to this proposal, the Company tonight provided us with a copy of a notice drafted under the Workers Adjust and Retraining Notification Act.
The WARN act requires sixty days advance notice before the closure of a business. The Company has said it is prepared to file this notice in the event negotiations are not successful.
This tactic, while expected, is representative of the bullying manner in which the Times Company has conducted itself during these negotiations. Despite the Company’s hostile tactics, we continue to negotiate in good faith and work diligently toward an acceptable outcome.”
As A Bostonian who hasn't read that rag in years, I really wish I could come up with something nice to say on this occasion, you know, so I don't come off like one of those Dummie-like hyenas.
But the Globe has had it coming. It is an elitist institution of the Kennedy type--it is run by and for people who claim to champion The Little People when in fact they despise The Little People and simply want to exercise control over the lives of those they claim to champion.
They have shilled for the Kennedys and the Kennedys couldn't care less that the paper is dying. A lesson the Republicans in DC should remember each time they "reach out" to liberals, but they won't.
It's much worse than this as uncovered but ignored by the MSM. Obama actually threatened to ruin one of the Chrysler debtors with the use of these very stooges if they didn't agree to giving up their rights to repayment.
A Canadian press takes a critical look at Obama, and sees what the American press refuses to acknowledge.

Geithner "Most Beautiful" Scandal: Tim's Brother Is A 'People' Mag VP! the business insider ^
Yesterday we were startled to learn that Tim Geithner had made People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People list.
Not because Tim isn't a fine-looking fellow, but because he pretty much looks like any other guy who's done a lifetime of bureaucratic work.
But maybe there's a simple explanation.
Geithner's brother David Geithner, is a People executive, having been at Time Warner (TWX) since 1992. This 1992 wedding announcement confirms they have the same father. And they look similar!
Now, of course we're not saying David put bro Tim on the list. But might David's underlings have added him, you know, as a joke or favor to the boss?

Joseph Goebbels is smiling somewhere.
Even he couldn't have done it this well.
The wholesale propaganda now goes out pure and unfiltered to the sheeple

The only way I'd stand for Bush is if it gave me the appropriate posture to pee on his shoe.

4:57 AM Good morning leftist troll. Hope all is well with you today. Remember lets keep those commissions rolling in. Only 3 weeks left on your quota.
The White House reporters stood for Obama because they had a thrill run up their legs.
@5:44
Leftist, hell. He wrecked my party.
Q. What’s the difference between Monica Lewinsky and the White House Press Corps?
A. The White House Press Corps isn’t behind closed doors.
