This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Great new Kansas City blog
Some of the guys who used to publish the excellent State of the Line blog have started a new blog, The Bovine Comedy. They've added a couple of contributors and are off to a great start.
KC has so many excellent bloggers, but there is always room for one more. The Red Sar & Sickle will not be missed. Who wants their three days old, AP biased, propaganda in the first place? And, that old saw that they publish the school board reports, well guess what? The School Board has their own web page and will publish their whole meeting transcript. No need for another reporter to nod off while on the job. Let’s hear another old saw for a laugh.
"The School Board has their own web page and will publish their whole meeting transcript."
Right! Who needs a pesky reporter there to ask questions, put the board's actions into context, and point out inconsistencies, errors, and lies? In fact, let's extend this to the national and international scene. Why do we need reporters? Congress and the White House, not to mention the Iranian government, can just maintain Web sites and tell us what they want us to know.
Right! Who needs a pesky reporter there to put their liberal spin on the need for more tax money for schools, and cheerleading for the unions? Get real, the newspaper here took their notes from the school administration. Thinking that everyone is as dumb as reporters didn’t serve you well in the past, and the future, well it doesn’t look too good either. You can liken the local reporters to the White House press corps, asking selected questions for the programmed answers. Try again, that old saw won’t fly, now matter how hard you try. Someone already said it, “You can’t polish a turd.”
“Why do we need reporters?” Good question, we don’t! Not biased liars without an ounce of integrity anyway. You have to laugh at the new model of the day for the clinger-oners. The new model of today is Twitter, and a whole 140 frames to get that big story out there. I hear the pay is fantastic!
John Landsberg has become a great blogger. I am sure glad he decided to continue his KC News feature. He has a good eye for news that interests KC residents. In contrast, The KC Star has dreary articles, after boring articles, after nonsense articles, after racist columnist rants, and their day is OVER. What a breath of fresh air he is.
