Kansas City Star movie reviewer seen sleeping on the job

Kansas City Star movie reviewer Robert Butler was seen dozing during a Monday screening of Transformers. Hearne Christopher noted Butler's nap at KC Confidential on Tuesday:

... venerable Star movie critic Robert Butler fell asleep and was seen dozing during a majorly intense battle scene near the end of the movie.

I can’t say for sure how long he was out. But I can tell you he was very much a goner when he was eye-witnessed by the entire KC Confidential Street Team and others in an unawake state.

Hey, it was after 10 p.m. and people get tired. Still, one has to wonder if Butler will include any actual dream sequences in his review. And let the record show he awoke before the movie’s end, so he won’t have to beg off reporting on it under the guise of not wanting to spoil the surprise or something.

Come on. Are you surprised? Movie critics are the least talented and needed writers needed at a newspaper. Most of them are pathetic hacks who were unable to be reporters

I have not read a movie review for years. I don't trust what a liberal watcher of mostly disgusting movies has to say. It's sort of like the NYT not reviewing conservative book writers, and continuing the suppression of information. You know what these movie hacks will say before they say it. Why bother? I didn't know they slept through the movie. That may account for some of their incompetence.

I always thought being a movie critic would be a good gig, but having to watch the slop called movies today would try me greatly. I received HBO and the other Premiums free for three months, and I could rarely find anything decent to watch. I am not an old fuddy-duddy either; I’m just not accepting garbage as an art form.

Well, try reading the movie reviews. A lot of quality films are shown, and the reviews will help you make intelligent choices about which are worth paying money to see.

As for Mr. butler, he was simply practicing for when his paper goes bankrupt, and he rises to the level of a civil service job.

Also, I’m sure in his review he will speak in great detail of the segment he slept through via a quick call to a colleague.

..It was the best movie I never saw, and I'd urge my readers to not see it too.

My first laught of the day-
“Well, try reading the movie reviews. A lot of quality films are shown, and the reviews will help you make ‘intelligent’ choices”

Too many movie reviews are written to part you from your money. If I see the R rating, I stop right there. Seeing two nude bodies rolling around in bed to kill 1/3 of the movie time on the cheap, is not worth my seven dollars. Also, saying the “F” word a zillion times is also a cheap way to waste time. Also, the Oscars really help one decide which movie is a winner, they have become nothing but a political exercise to shove one liberal agenda or another down our throats.

Good grief, the whole movie industry has become a left-wing garbage dump. The last movie that really disgusted me was during the GOP primaries. The leftists came up with a anti-Mormon movie just at the time Mitt Romney was moving ahead in the polls. The media used the movie as if it was mainline news, to promote McCain. So transparent, one would think most any journalist could connect the dots, but the dolts did not. No surprise there. The jig is up, Hollywood has become another arm of the Democratic party.

7:27, you just can't live without conspiracies, can you? All aimed at you and your beliefs.

Get a life.
