This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Bee Guild members shell-shocked?
The Guild voted Tuesday to accept management's vacation burndown proposal. The Guild posted the results on its web site Tuesday evening -- and since that time, nobody has posted a single comment at the Guild's site. . . .

That's not unusual. Whoever runs the site will delete anything critical and has done so several times in the past. There's a few honest posts and then they're gone, replaced by the guild officer's propaganda. If you read the handful of posts that do get posted, you'll understand why people are reluctant to comment.
Bee guild runs on fear - fear of being fired or laidoff. The gutless members lay low after worthless votes figuring not being noticed may save them from the next round of cuts. They should really fold the guild. How can you bargain when you're on your knees begging all the time?
Anony 8:34 is right. Most of the posts are by elected officers trying to sway votes. Members aren't allow to comment nasty things to the elected officials. But we can think them.
Is anyone still paying dues to this union? What is the difference between a guild and a union anyway? Just a bunch of letters, or is it something important?

What's the Guild's position? PRONE!
Sometimes people have to remember, the worst thing they can do to you is fire you. Its not like they can take away your birthday!

Still not one single comment on the vacation burn story on Bee guild site. Guess they ALL must be on vacation.

Guilds go way back...WAY WAY back to ancient times...guess they never have moved from there!
