Reader to News & Observer: "please knock off the giant photos!"

A subscriber sent a letter to the N&O complaining about the paper printing over sized photos.

It appears that large photos are more important than all the features you have dropped in the name of saving newsprint. I don't need a mammoth photo of Chinese security guards or very large photos of Tyler Hansbrough and other sports figures. What I need are the things you have cut out. Where are your priorities? If you want to save newsprint, use smaller pictures and bring back the good stuff.

This reader wants the N&O to "bring back the good stuff," but I think his idea -- more words, smaller pictures -- won't help the N&O appeal to a younger audience.

When you devolve into an AP/ DNC cut and paste comic book, yet still have a space, what’s “left”...pictures!

Dear MC Watch:

When you were a journalists were you ever in a position to actually make decisions about the newspaper? It seems as though you were a ground-level reporter (and probably not a good one given that you were fired) who never rose to the status of someone who could make real decisions.

One photo is worth a thousand words - or in this case, 50,000 words. When you don't have staff or copy, run those photos way big!

Dear 7:06 AM,

Before you became a troll, were you ever in a position to actually make decisions about the newspaper? I think you were. It seems as though you are so throughly uninformed that you automatically invent your scenario, assign the settings and determine the outcome of your concocted tripe without a single attempt to check a fact.

Hopefully, someday you will slip up and brag about your trolling careerer to the wrong person. Then someone will snatch you up and kick the living crap out of your nasty ass.

The N&O has become to its readers, like a picture book for young children, few words, the child dreams up the story.

7:06 AM- Why do you come here to insult the blog host? That is typical leftist behavior. You know this is a conservative blog, and yet you can’t stay away. Insulting the host shows how unhinged you are, and that you are a useless troll. Trying to interrupt a blog with personal insults is childish, but it does reveal your low character.

This is not a conservative blog. It's a whine festival. A place where left and right leaning people (mostly right leaning guys imho) feel comfortable sharing opinions and stupidity they're too afraid to say publicly and a place where the "conservatives" tend to get patted on the back by like-minded people.

The idea that someone is going to "...kick the living crap out of your nasty ass." is humorous. If you're that sure of yourself, the next time you get into a debate over issues on this site throw a punch.

Anonymous words are easily typed but the libs/left and the conservs/right on this site likely don't have the nuts to actually say it to someone's face in person. That's why you're all here typing...

Afraid and alone with your keyboard.

Why is it that the whiners on the board (trolls and leftists) NEVER, EVER can ever say anything of substance about McClatchy?

Meaning, what’s right about the paper, why it’s not bias, and why anyone should buy it?

Could it be that even they believe it’s just another leftist POS that is Chapter 11 bound?

Trolls have lots of time on their hands. They're either unemployed or Gary Pruitt. Is that you Gary?

The comment at 7:06 is so revealing of the management attitude toward their employees.

The Daily Kos on the other hand is a place where real men spend time typing on their keyboards...right?

Don't be too quick to talk about what someone will or wont do in person. You know nothing about me.

Test your theory. Publish your identity and we'll gauge the results!

Type away, hypocrite.

Oh well, I did the same thing when back in school. Large graphics and large fonts to fill the pages. I did less work and got done quicker, that is why I am in the newspaper business now.

11:10AM - You don't like Pruitt and his crew, right? You know all the answers, right? Stop by the corporate offices and show them how much of a stud you are. They are the object of your anger, no? Go ahead, walk into the corporate offices and kick some ass.... laughable. Your fat gut couldn't handle it. Nor your atrophying old body. Keep dreaming you're capable. Keep typing.

I suppose that means you are not going to disclose your identity and how tough you are. Right?

Typical liberal name caller who admittedly knows nothing about the people he is virulently attacking. Unencumbered by knowledge he pecks away at a keyboard sliming people he does not know with statements he knows are likely false.

"Like" Pruitt and his crew??? Are you kidding? NO ONE like Pruitt. The righties think he has prostituted the paper to the ideologues on the left. The employees think he is an abusive crook. Everyone knows he has plundered MNI for his own gain and the gain of a few in management. Pruitt is lucky a mob with long curved knives, pitchforks and torches is not waiting for him every night.
