Bee's pitch to potential advertisers (updated)

Here is a video pitch the Sacramento Bee uses to sell potential advertisers on its web site.

Hat tip: Fitz and Jen

Update: good question from a reader:

"Why would I go to the Bee web site when I could go to the retailers site directly ? I mean if I'm interested in a car I'll check out the dealers site same for real estate and any other business."

So, Da Bee is pitching that they will email spam their registered readers at the advertiser's behalf.

Glad I never registered or subscribed.

Anon 3:29 They lost me at about 1:20 of their ad. Agree with you.

First, I trust them about as much as I do Melanie Sill.

Next, I would never go to their site because of their blatant bias.

Moreover, because of their bias, I had to find other web portals to find what I'm looking for.

So since they trained me long ago to steer clear from them, there is no logical reason to go back…ever.

Because you can comparison shop.

8:27 PM: You can comparison shop and in more detail by visiting any retailers web site. Why limit yourself to the Bees paid advertisers ?

If I'm looking for a truck I'll get reviews from Edmonds, prices from Kelly and the best deals by looking at the local dealers. The Bees one site can never give me all that.

Advertising? We don't need no stinking advertising!

This is an old ad. SacTicket doesn't exist now, and the Bee's site doesn't look like that anymore.
