Former McClatchy publisher lands in Alabama

When Ricky Mathews left his position as publisher of the Sun Herald earlier this month, he said he was going to work in a position "outside McClatchy." Turns out he was just named president and publisher of two newspapers in Alabama (the Press-Register in Mobile and the Mississippi Press in Pascagoula). More here.

Update: I initially got the state wrong, proving I'm not smarter than a 5th grader. Thanks to the reader who pointed this out.

Let's see he was in Biloxi, Mississippi. He's now over four papers in Alabama. So the headline says he lands in Mississppi?

Actually, he is straddling the border. Mobile is in Alabama. Pascagoula is in Mississippi.
