New email endorsement shows AARP going all-out for Dems, Obamacare
Washington Examiner

Not that there was any doubt about it, but a new email campaign by AARP's liberal Democrat-dominated Washington staff makes it crystal clear that the leadership of the 40-million member seniors group is going all-out for Obamacare and the House Democrats' version of it, H.R. 3200.

The email alert is especially interesting because AARP is a tax-exempt non-profit that is barred from participating in partisan campaigns, though it is allowed to do a limited amount of legislative lobbying of Congress.

No doubt the AARP leadership in Washington will argue they aren't doing anything they aren't allowed to do as a 501(c)(4), but this new email campaign throws the spirit of the law right out the window.

But wait, there is more. Erick Erickson at Red State details the steps by which AARP's Washington staff has moved the organization to its present position, and notes the growing opposition within the membership.

Would a lib ever and sell out their constituents?

According to its mission statement,[1] it is "a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over ... dedicated to enhancing quality of life for all as we age,"

But but the AARP spokesperson where I live swore that the AARP doesn’t endorse any legislation.

But, they just get as close as they can get without actually saying “we endorse Obama’s DeathCare”

White House Collecting "Fishy" information is Illegal. (Foxnews)

The White House strategy of turning supporters into snitches when they see "fishy" information about the health care debate may run afoul of the law, legal experts say.

"The White House is in bit of a conundrum because of this privacy statute that prohibits the White House from collecting data and storing it on people who disagree with it," Judge Andrew Napolitano, a FOX News analyst, said Friday.

"There's also a statute that requires the White House to retain all communications that it receives. It can't try to rewrite history by pretending it didn't receive anything," he said.

"If the White House deletes anything, it violates one statute. If the White House collects data on the free speech, it violates another statute."

Speaking of fishy. The White House wants so much information on us, yet won’t release anything on Dear Leader who reeks like a ten day old mackerel.

Why They Really Want to Kill Off the Elderly and Disabled (Economic Policy Journal)

What's really behind the push in the healthcare bill to limit, by government decree, healthcare options? It's because of the government's medicare Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like just a simple short-game grifter.

As Gary North points out, Medicare's hospital fund is already bankrupt:

This is taken from a March 25, 2008 press release from the U.S. government's Department of Health and Human Services. This year the HI Trust Fund will spend more than its income, and from 2009 through 2017, about $342 billion will need to be transferred from the Federal treasury to cover beneficiaries' hospital insurance costs.

The hospital trust fund is the heart of Medicare. How is medicare going to make up the difference? It is going to sell off non-marketable Treasury IOU's back to the Treasury? What is that going to mean?

Anonymous said...

So getting them to die off fixes both SS and Medicare?

Maybe we can re-make “Old Yeller”, starring Grandma?

No, Obama's solution for the Elderly will be his new food product: Soylent Green.

DEATHCARE SOLVES ALL

What about death and estate taxes, which the Marxist dems will increase 100% in 2012?

Property will have to be sold to settle debts and taxes will be levied on those sales.

So Dear Leader gets to cull our elderly citizens like Nazi Germany, steal their assets for their government coffers, and replace them with illiterate impoverished third world democrat peasants.

This is a win-win-win-win for the Marxists dems!

Atlanta TV Exposes Dem Congressman Yelling At Healthcare Questioner Noel Sheppard

As national media outlets and their employees depict town hall meeting protesters as right-wing outsiders organized by conservative organizations, the Atlanta affiliate of NBC aired a segment Friday evening that should act as a fine example of how this uprising in America should be covered.

11 Alive reporter Duffie Dixon not only showed a heated exchange between Rep. David Scott (D-13th District) and a man asking him about his position on pending healthcare legislation in the House, but also interviewed the questioner when Scott erroneously contended the man was not a constituent and was only trying to hijack his meeting.

As Dixon shared with her viewers, not only wasn't the questioner an organized outsider, he was actually a local doctor

Anonymous said...

Very predictable behavior, shout at the questioner and then lie through the teeth.

I guess that is what the DNC put out as “the talking points” LIE LIE LIE, and if that don’t work, lie again and call on the SEIU thugs.

(FROM WIKIPEDIA)
In 2007, rep David Scott was named one of the 22 most corrupt members of Congress by the political watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington In addition to the above complaints Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington also brought into question David Scott's character after he called his Congressional opponent, Deborah Honeycutt, a 'bitch.'

After it was reported that Congressman Scott had called Dr. Deborah Honeycutt a 'bitch,' Donzella James, Scott's 2008 Democratic Primary Opponent, issued this statement: "[David Scott] has been disrespectful to me and other women in my presence.

Even in mixed company, he often makes vulgar references that are less than gentlemanly."

No New Calif. Textbooks Until 2016
UPI. WHEN DEMOCRATS RUN A STATE, LIKE MICHIGAN

Budget cuts will force the California Board of Education to delay buying new textbooks until January 2016 at the earliest, officials say.

A state budget that closed a $24 billion deficit last month dramatically reduced state spending for kindergarten through eighth-grade textbooks, and a result most school districts are also putting off buying new high school textbooks, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

California has also moved to allow funds that were supposed to be solely for textbooks to be diverted to other uses -- an amount that totals $334 million this year. The Times said administrators contend that flexibility is essential for dealing effectively with the budget crisis, but at least one state official disagrees.

"We need modern, state-of-the-art textbooks, not outdated, antiquated textbooks," Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell told the newspaper. "It could be close to a generation before we see new textbooks."

"There is no really good decision," added California Teachers Association President David Sanchez.

"I am not a Democrat who believes that we can or should defend every government program just because it's there," Obama said at a rally. LMAO

"We will fire government managers who aren't getting results, we will cut funding for programs that are wasting your money and we will use technology and lessons from the private sector to improve efficiency across every level of government." ROFLMAO

"The only way we can do all this without leaving our children with an even larger debt is if Washington starts taking responsibility for every dime that it spends," he said. FAINTING

When AARP originally posted a forum on Deathcare they got so much negative feedback that they eliminated all the comments and just put up Deathcare talking points. AARP has clearly betrayed seniors because at the heart of all these government schemes is decreased care for seniors. Deathcare even ups the ante to include death counselors. Obama Health Plan to Cover 12 Million Illegals (Newsmax)

On Friday, Democrats moved one step closer to giving free health insurance to the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal aliens when they successfully defeated a Republican-backed amendment, offered by Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Barack Obama.

The House Ways and Means Committee nixed the Heller amendment by a 26-to-15 vote along straight party lines, and followed this action by passing the 1,018-page bill early Friday morning by a 23-to-18 margin, with three Democrats voting against the plan.

The Democratic plan will embrace Obama’s vision of bringing free government medical care to more than 45 million uninsured people in America – a significant portion of whom are illegal aliens.

Jury Hears Ex-Mistress (for 9 hours - John Edwards Jury Hears Ex-Mistress

John Edwards is back in the public spotlight, this time as a federal grand jury investigates whether his presidential campaign illegally funneled money to his former mistress.

Filmographer Rielle Hunter -- who had an affair with the former North Carolina senator and presidential candidate -- spent nine hours in a Raleigh courthouse Thursday testifying in front of the grand jury. A federal investigation on the use of Edwards' campaign money continues.

Edwards, who grew up in the northern Moore County town of Robbins, has denied any wrongdoing on the part of his campaign.

According to the Associated Press, Edwards' political action committee (PAC) paid Hunter $100,000 for film services in 2006 and an additional $14,086 on April 1, 2007, despite having only around $8,000 on hand. Edwards' presidential campaign paid the PAC $14,034 the same day for "furniture."

Hunter was photographed walking into the Raleigh courthouse Thursday with her 18-month-old daughter, Frances. It has been widely speculated that Edwards is the father of the child, though he has publicly denied the claims and no paternity test has been done.

UK retirement age could rise to 70
Times Online

The retirement age in the UK could rise to 70, the chairman of the Pensions Regulator is warning.

David Norgrove said a rise in the retirement age was inevitable as people lived longer and saved less.

Norgrove believes a report by Lord Turner four years ago, which recommended a rise in the state pension retirement age to 68 by 2044, is just the starting point.

At the moment men can claim their pension when they are 65, while women can claim at 60.

Speaking to the BBC this morning Norgrove said: “Given recent legislation is increasing the retirement age progressively to 68, I think it will end up higher than that.

Asian American nominated to S.F. federal court [Former ACLU Lawyer Challenged Prop.209!]
SFChronicle

U.S. Magistrate Edward Chen, who as a lawyer helped persuade a judge in 1983 to overturn a Japanese American man's conviction for defying World War II internment, was nominated by President Obama on Friday to the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, where no Asian American has ever been a federal judge.

Chen was an American Civil Liberties Union lawyer in San Francisco from 1985 to 2001 and took part in the ACLU's unsuccessful challenge to Proposition 209, the 1996 initiative that outlawed race and sex preferences in government hiring, contracting and education.

"Diversity (And America hating Marxist Affiliation) is critical on the bench," said San Francisco attorney Malcolm Yeung, a board member of the Bay Area's Asian American Bar Association.

ACLU: That Fishy Email Thing Ain’t No Big Deal

You just have to trust Barry, cause he is just so cute and fuzzy! The ACLU said in a statement to FOXNews.com that the White House blog is a “bad idea that could send a troublesome message.”

But the organization added, “While it is unclear at this point what the government is doing with the information it is collecting, critics of the administration’s health care proposal should not fear that their names will end up in some government database that could be used to chill their right to free speech.”

Anonymous said...

Now if Bush had done it, then we would have a very serious problem to the ACLU. However, since it’s Obama then it’s OK.

Anonymous said...

Kind of like what happened with the feminist movement during the Clinton administration.

N.O.W. and the other feminist organizations completely lost credibility by their over-the-top support of Clinton, regardless of his treatment and disrespect of women.

CNN Uses Pro-Communist American to Tout Cuban Health Care
By Rich Noyes

There’s something deeply wrong with journalism that scrutinizes and criticizes the institutions of free and successful nations, but produces puff pieces on the supposed achievements of totalitarian dictatorships.

On Thursday, CNN aired a piece of communist party propaganda about how Cuba could serve as “a model for health care reform” in the United States, complete with an authoritative sound bite from an American medical expert, identified only as someone “who’s lived and worked in Cuba for decades.”

But the expert, Gail Reed, is a longtime admirer of the Cuban revolution, married to the Cuban official who served as ambassador to Grenada in the early 1980s when U.S. troops liberated the island from hardline communists who had executed the leftist Prime Minister Maurice Bishop.

She's also worked at Granma, Cuba’s official communist party newspaper.

Correspondent Morgan Neill also recited all of the standard tropes about how Cuban health care is the best in Latin America, is completely free, and “no one falls through the cracks.”

While he acknowledged that “critics charged that conditions in Cuban hospitals are appalling and that Cubans had to pay bribes to get decent care,” nearly all of the August 6 report was positive.

Anonymous said...

I have no idea what they are thinking with this one.

Everybody, even most democrats, knows that health care is "free" in Cuba because there actually isn't any.

Well, there is a syringe tucked away in a drawer somewhere, a used roll of gauze on a shelf, and an old box of bandaids in a cabinet somewhere.

Castro even had to fly docs in from out of the country when he was sick.

Anonymous said...

As long as the cure doesn't require toilet paper, Cuba is an excellent model.
