The Kansas City Star Sports department has an opening for a part-time Sports Clerk. Hours for this position are generally in the evenings and include weekends.
Requirements:The candidate must be reliable and knowledgeable about sports.
This individual must be accurate with names and numbers. Ability to work quickly and accurately is a must. Copy editing and layout skills are a plus.Salary is $7.25 per hour.

If I'm not mistaken, %7.25 IS minimum wage. But it's even more pathetic when you consider a starting clerking position was $8 an hour 20 years ago.

6:42 is absolutely correct. I started at $7.62 in 1988 in Sacramento as a part-timer. Sad to see that the wage has gone DOWN after 20 years. Who would want to work at a newspaper anymore?

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram was already paying 25% less than the Dallas Morning News before McClatchy bought the paper. After all the wage and benefit cuts, we're headed toward the bottom of the pay scale as well. That will attract dedicated workers just like McDonald's. Do you want fries with that paper?
