This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

KC Star math: from 1959 to 2009 = 40 years
Via Living in the Scoot Utopia, a photo essay in the Kansas City Star about a decades-old gas station fire had some fuzzy math.
The above description of the photo gallery says the fire was 40 years ago. But the photo below gives the year: 1959.
No copy editors at the Star = embarrassing mistakes.
It could have been anyone at the Star. Since the KCMO school district adopted diversity over math, addition and subtraction are taught in a field where Wayne Minor used to stand, by professor G-Money.
Example Lesson for elementary level. 2 + 2 = You owe me a C Note Mother F*&^er.
The Graduate Course: 3 Tires + 1 Rim - 1 Spare = Getaway Car
