Al is a great man, his talent will be greatly missed in McClatchy. He hired me into this business and was a great coach and mentor.
Good Luck to you Al.

One less good manager. Now one of their ass-kissers will be promoted to fill that position.

I'm glad the henchman is leaving. He was full of BS when he was in Raleigh. And he really needs to get his hearing checked...that man is LOUD! Now if only his Raleigh sidekick's would leave...

I agree with Raleigh. He was the hatchet man - and yup, he excelled at that. But as a person, he had cooties. I suspect some of the accolades are coming from men. We celebrated in my (Raleigh) department when he left.

It's a good start, cleaning out advertising. When are they going to start cleaning the management house in the newsroom in Sac?

Al Autry is a good man that I worked for in Raleigh that had my total respect, still does.

He spoke the truth, regardless of if you liked it or not. He was not a coward, like me, who will not put his name on this post.
