Obama's enablers in the dinosaur media are working overtime to divert attention away from massive unemployment, out-of-control deficit spending, ties to ACORN, and the war in Afghanistan spinning out of control.
This is standard operating procedure at McClatchy. During 2008 McClatchy did more investigation into Joe the Plumber's background and Trig Palin's birth than it did to vetting Barack Obama. And don't get me started about McClatchy's Joe Wilson Derangement Syndrome.
BTW, the reporter who wrote the "Maybe-Glenn-Beck-is-lying-about-his-mother's-death" piece is Lewis Kamb. Who seems to have a keen interest in Glenn Beck -- Kamb tweeted here about Glenn Beck getting spoofed on Saturday Night Live. Hardy har.
Update: a reader points to this link: Glenn Beck had More Viewers Than the Competition Combined Every Night Last Week. Hmm, that just might cause the McClatchy people to reprise some of their Palin Investigative Techniques and start diving into the dumpsters around Beck's home to find more trash on Beck.

Sick.
But Lokeman's driving record shouldn't be discussed, and is not news.
If Glenn Beck's deceased mother is fair game, then so are Barack Obama's deceased parents and the adults in his extended family.
If you read the entire story the second to last paragraph reads:
"Yet the report added that Coast Guard officials theorized Beck's mother also could have jumped overboard."
So what's the problem? Geez, these asshole reporters are annoying!
i hate it when McClatchy Watch acts so much like McClatchy. if Glenn Beck is fibbing about his mother's death, he's fibbing about his mother's death. he's the one who put it out there. let him defend it. McClatchy is doing what it should be doing on this one. if you want to criticize, criticize it for not going after all the other fibbers. McClatchy ought to be calling all of them out all of the time: obama, biden, palin, gore, kennedy (pick any of them), rush, kissinger, etc., et al. left or right, there seem to be people who like to just make things up. and before you start blasting me, consider that i'm motherless, too, because my mother was abducted by space aliens.
12:17 -- McClatchy's motto is "Truth to Power"... since the Dems control the White House, the House, and the Senate, you'd think McClatchy would hold these people to account, right?
Never happens. McClatchy consistently runs interference for the Dems by investigating Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, Joe Wilson, Joe the Plumber, etc etc etc.
But hey, if you think this is a winning strategy for McClatchy, keep it up!
"beck's mom commits suicide?
makes sense."
Anonymous liberal troll takes a short break from looking at kiddie porn to make a personal attack on a conservative?
Makes sense.
Truth Hurts -- I'm almost certain the guy who joked about the suicide is a McClatchy employee.
"if Glenn Beck is fibbing about his mother's death, he's fibbing about his mother's death. he's the one who put it out there. let him defend it."
When John Edwards was fibbing about his extra-marital affair...he didn't even have to defend it.
Apparently McClatchy is less interested in a Democrat presidential candidate than a conservative talk host.
Makes sense.
"Truth Hurts -- I'm almost certain the guy who joked about the suicide is a McClatchy employee."

:o)
Jokes about Glenn Becks mother committing suicide are demented. I will delete them.
2:08 deleted for violating the rules.
"You can't be anymore demented."
Really?

Let's investigate if Obama relatives are in the country illegally or are getting public assistance or...oh, that's right, we don't investigate those kinds of charges.
I can see Beck's ratings going even higher after this line of bull gets going. MSNBC and NBC can't be happy.
Yeah, I'm sure Glenn Beck is sweating this one. Today's headline over on tvbythenumbers.com:
"Glenn Beck Had More Viewers Than The Competition Combined Every Night Last Week"
Last weekend 7000 fans gathered to hear Glenn Beck speak in Washington state. There were about 30 protesters. The Seattle Times reporter wrote there was “..a torrent of anger” about the controversy of Beck and Obama. There were many interviews with the protesters, blah, blah, blah and that made up far too much of the article. The 30 protesters received more comments then the 7,000 fans. These liberal reporters wonder why people aren’t buying their biased garbage, geez, get a clue. She was supposed to reporting on the event, not writing an opinion piece. How about reporting on Glenn Beck and not the lunatic fringe? The loons preened for the cameras, and then left immediately, no doubt for the Seattle slosh houses. BTW, several people questioned the fuzzy media math that there were even 30 protesters.
Anon 4:35 "Truth to Power Baby!"
The Seattle Times is 50 percent owned by McClatchy, thus the anti-Beck BS in its story.
"Journalistic judgement" at work.
Dressed up name for in the tank hypocrisy.
Professionalism in most of the democrat media is a joke, a little thin curtain that shills hide behind.
The point is that the judgement of the media always comes down in the same place. Family? Off limits if they are liberal but legitimate news if the are conservative. Major past errors. Old news and irrelevant for the democrats but needed background for conservatives. We have seen in the past week that party identification for political criminals is only appropriate when they are republicans.
Hypocrite. Shill. Toady. Words fail me.
That the Seattle Times should write a piece like that doesn't surprise me. When it comes to politics, this is a one party state. Has been for as long as I've been here.
Today we learn that with death tolls rising, the media is no longer interested in capturing the images of caskets bearing war dead coming from Afghanistan.
What changed?
We have a democrat president.
Jokes about a mother's suicide but the conservative tone is "uncivil"
Filthy hypocrite.
hey, 7:30 a.m. i'm with you. gary hart; that conservative bastard. Rep. William Jefferson; that rightwing whacko.
Wow, Had to reach back to Gary Hart!
