By the way, I won't tolerate rude comments here. Most workers at McClatchy are decent people working hard to raise a family. They have nothing to do with the editorial content of the news and they aren't the suits making bonehead moves (like paying $4.6 billion for Knight Ridder when KR was worth a fraction of that). So go easy in comments.
Update: from comments:
"Looks to me like they are having a lot more fun than the non-retired McClatchy employees!"

Nice pics. As someone laid off from a McClatchy paper, I think it's great that the ex-Sac Bee employees are meeting like this. Maybe more ex-employees in other states should do this, too--it's good to keep up with people and remember old times.
Looks to me like they are having a lot more fun than the non-retired McClatchy employees! And that is the way it should be.
Nice read.
It's nice to see something here for once that recognized good people have worked here...and continue to do so. So much hatred on this site is just not right.
I wonder how many of those, "good people" are retired management.
Good for them. After surviving hell they deserve to smile.
Party on !
If this is the same group of retired employees that attend the lunches in other cities, these are the guys that created hell. Production employees outside of management don't get invitations to these.
Hey ! Why was I not invited ?
I know some of these folks. Most if not all worked in Circulation. No Upper Management types just the guys that got the papers out every morning and some support/clerical staff.
I got to get on their invite list.
Thanks for posting.
