Shocker!... poll finds the media has a serious credibility problem

Latest Pew poll confirms my suspicions: the media's credibility has taken a nosedive.

The public’s assessment of the accuracy of news stories is now at its lowest level in more than two decades of Pew Research surveys, and Americans’ views of media bias and independence now match previous lows.

Just 29% of Americans say that news organizations generally get the facts straight, while 63% say that news stories are often inaccurate. In the initial survey in this series about the news media’s performance in 1985, 55% said news stories were accurate while 34% said they were inaccurate. That percentage had fallen sharply by the late 1990s and has remained low over the last decade.

Similarly, only about a quarter (26%) now say that news organizations are careful that their reporting is not politically biased, compared with 60% who say news organizations are politically biased. And the percentages saying that news organizations are independent of powerful people and organizations (20%) or are willing to admit their mistakes (21%) now also match all-time lows…

The chart below shows the numbers.

Just look at McClatchy's failures over the past 3 weeks -- did you see any McClatchy coverage of the ACORN scandals? The Van Jones scandal? The Charlie Rangel tax evasion scandal? The massive 9/12 DC rally? McClatchy isn't interested in these stories because they work against the Democrats.

It is pretty obvious that they no longer even care what the public perception of them is, but I can tell you now, the special little laws they have enjoyed that give them exemptions to anti competitive business practices are going to disappear the instant that they no longer have their hand picked shills in control.

We must understand that McClatchy is operating under the journalistic model of socialist realism, where what's written must forward the cause.

These are not American journalists, they are Stalinists to the core. They are the enemy within and they must be defeated by any means necessary.

The media leftists have devoted so much time crafting a modern news delivery system, but they forgot the important elements, truth and accuracy. All the denials that the media is biased just got another kick in the head. The non-coverage Saturday of the tax protest rally was beyond just being biased, it was dishonest. The corrupt media will never regain the public trust they have squandered.

Yep...I want to associate my brand with a product held in such low esteem by the consumer. Right.

Bernard Goldberg on O'Reilly last night suggested we quit calling them "mainstream media" because the term is no longer applicable. They no longer represent mainstream which is why they are dying. Somebody suggested "leftstream media" which I thought was accurate.

You'll see activist online sites and Fox News doing more and more of these types of fraud/corruption investigations and getting the word out. It works because people want this information and know they can't get it anywhere else. TV ratings and online hits are proof the public is hungry for rooting out these government parasites.

Socialists have hijacked the Democratic party. Sooner or later, the more astute Democrats will realize this is not the party they thought it was. The corrupted media will never change, they have so much invested in Obama, to retreat is not an option for them. They will go down the drain with Obama rather than admit what they so obviously did to elect him.

I made Fox News my homepage. That way I can counter all the MNI hits employees are forced to make each day to their lost cause news site.

The Democrats demeaning the protesters, and the media caught in their old leftist scam reporting has been very eye-opening for thousands of voters. I wouldn’t have thought the leftist media could be so ignorant of public opinion, but they are. They still think they can shape the news! Shut them down.

Fox News Rocks!

Good idea 8:29. I'm going to make FoxNews my home page, too! It's a statement we all can make if our local news provider is a mouthpiece for the Obama administration. So long SacBee.com.

John, Love the MSM model name of Socialist Realism!

Good read on the history of media bias. The description of Van Jones as an “overripe Marxist” is a bull’s-eye hit.

Soros, the man behind the curtain. How is it that the Canadian press does a better job of reporting on a REAL danger to the USA than we do?

Soros: Republic Enemy #1 - George Soros is an evil man.

The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States.”—George Soros - “George Soros is an evil man. He’s anti-God, anti-family, anti-American, and anti-good.” —Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson - Is it possible to lay the global financial meltdown, the radicalizing of the Democratic Party, and America’s moral decline, at the feet of one man? It is indeed possible. If George Soros isn’t the world’s preeminent “malignant messianic narcissist,” he’ll do until the real thing comes along. Move over, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot. There’s a new kid on the block. What we have in Soros,...

These days the old media is putting more effort into NOT reporting the news than into telling the story. How hard it must be to keep ignoring major stories just because they are inconvienient.

Would that the journalism industry would connect the decline in credibility with their financial fortunes.
