New York Times Staff "Stunned" By Newsroom Cuts (The Business Insider)

The New York Times (NYT) newsroom is reeling from today's announcement that the company plans to cut the staff by 100.

We spoke with a Times reporter, who told us it was the timing of the layoffs that is hitting everyone the hardest. The layoffs will come at the start of December, meaning a jobless Christmas for lots of reporters.

(Since when do Marxist Atheists celebrate the birth of Christ Our Lord?)

Most of the people at the Times know the paper needs to be slimmed down, but nobody expected it would come in the middle of October. The newsroom is "stunned."

When we asked our source if the source knew anyone that would accept the buyout, the reply came back, "Ha! Absolutely not!" If anyone at the Times wanted a buyout, they could have taken one, just 18 months ago.

So, expect Bill Keller to have to make cuts. Our source says the staff knew budgets would be tighter next year, but they didn't expect the cuts this year.

This fortells bad news for this Thursday's third quarter earnings announcement. Otherwise, the cuts could have waited until after the holidays.

How will the Times decide who gets cut? It's either going to be based on seniority, or it will be based on who's performing, and working hardest. The feeling is nobody is safe. Digital people as well as people on the print side could be sacked.

"The newsroom is “stunned.”

Wait a second! We hate capitalism! We think America sucks! We were born owed a job!

How DARE the evil capitalists fire us just because they have to pay us!

Why am I naked in front of the class when I haven’t studied for the test?

(Schadenfreude — it’s what’s for breakfast!)

Aw you poor NYT staffers. Don’t you understand this is just a byproduct of HOPE and CHANGE.

Go on over to Rockefeller Center and see if NBC is hiring.

Well of course the Times are laying off. The Slimes doesn’t need reporters revealing Pentagon and CIA secrets, when Obama is unilaterally disarming. They can’t do any more harm to America than Obama is already doing, so the Slimes is redundant.

White House Urges Other Networks to Disregard Fox News (FOXNews.com)

The White House is calling on other news organizations to isolate and alienate Fox News as it sends out top advisers to rail against the cable channel as a Republican Party mouthpiece.

Top political strategists question the decision by the Obama administration to escalate its offensive against Fox News. And as of Monday, the four other major television networks had not given any indication that they intend to sever their ties with Fox News.

Top White House Official Says Obama Team 'Controlled' Media Coverage During Campaign (Fox)

The Obama campaign's press strategy leading up to his election last November focused on "making" the media cover what the campaign wanted and on exercising absolute "control" over coverage, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told an overseas crowd early this year.

In a video of the event, Dunn is seen describing in detail the media strategy used by then-Sen. Barack Obama's highly disciplined presidential campaign. The video is footage from a Jan. 12 forum hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development in the Dominican Republic.

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," Dunn said, admitting that the strategy "did not always make us popular in the press."

The video drew attention after Dunn kicked off a war of words with Fox News last Sunday, calling the network "opinion journalism masquerading as news." The White House stopped providing guests to "Fox News Sunday" in August after host Chris Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Anita Dunn Claims Mao Praise Was An Innocent Joke (American Spectator)

Standup comedian Anita Dunn, who doubles as President Obama's White House communications director, now claims she was only joking when she praised Mao Zedong by calling him “one of the two people that I turn to most,” Glenn Beck revealed on his TV show Monday.

Hilarious ! There have to be 70 million murdered Chinese rolling in the aisles! What a knee-slapper.

Beck revealed last week that Dunn idolizes Mao, the brutal Communist dictator of China responsible for the slaughter of tens of millions of innocent victims.

Good Grief… ANOTHER Mao-Praising Obama Czar Caught on Tape (Video) (GatewayPundit)

How many commies have invaded the White House? …We may never know.
But here’s the latest Obama Czar praising mass-murderer Mao Tse-Tung in a speech: Ron Bloom is the Manufacturing Czar.

Doesn’t that make you feel secure?
So who is Ron Bloom? Jammie Wearing Fool wrote this about the former SEIU negotiator:

The name Ron Bloom is one that we need to start paying attention to. He has a long history of being the negotiating face of unions in a suit. He is a Harvard Business School graduate who has worked for the unions beginning with SEIU for decades.

The most recent union he represented was the United Steel Workers (USW) before becoming a part of the automotive team that Obama put together.

You know the one that had the head Steven Rattner having to resign over some questions about his personal finances mixed in with a little fraudulent money gifts.

Rattner was replaced by Ron Bloom, and voila the United Auto Workers (UAW), got a sweetheart deal backed up by the power of the federal government to try and stave off bankruptcy.

Barack Obama may not know anything about economics but he is an expert on radicalism. We know that.

Obama to skip anniversary of the fall of Communism (American Thinker)

It is pretty clear why the president is refusing to accept the personal invitation of the German chancellor and attend festivities marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

It would smack of American triumphalism - our success in defeating perhaps the most odious of all the odious ideologies of the 20th century. Obama doesn't do "triumphalism."

That would place America above other nations - something that he has explicitly condemned.

So he will be conspicuous by his absence. And another European ally has been embarrassed by this president.

White House Orders Other Networks to Isolate FOX News (GatewayPundit)

Alinsky’s RULE Number 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

The Obama White House is not only isolating and targeting FOX News (see Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals) for reporting on the radicals in the administration and the destructive nature of the White House policies, they also are ordering other the state-run media outlets to alienate and isolate FOX News.

But several top White House officials have taken aim at Fox News since communications director Anita Dunn branded Fox “opinion journalism masquerading as news” in an interview last Sunday.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told CNN on Sunday that President Obama does not want “the CNNs and the others in the world [to] basically be led in following Fox.”

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod went further by calling on media outlets to join the administration in declaring that Fox is “not a news organization.”

Brit Hume Asks How CNN, Others 'Like Being Patted on the Head & Given the Seal of Approval' by W.H. (Newsbusters)

After another round of attacks from the White House, this time from higher levels of the Obama administration, Brit Hume, a senior political analyst for Fox News, went to bat for his network.

snip

"It is a little hard to discern a strategy behind the White House campaign of criticism of Fox News unless it's simply this - an attempt to quarantine Fox and thereby discourage other media outlets from following up stories did originate here," Hume said.

"The White House is clearly stung by the revelations about former aid Van Jones. He turned out to have harbored views that were out there where the buses don't run and he was forced to resign.

And the White House could not much have cared for the hidden camera expose of ACORN - an organization with which the president had a past association and one whose voter registration drives have benefited the Democratic Party."

Helen Thomas to White House : End Fox fight (The Hill)

Veteran White House reporter Helen Thomas on Monday advised the Obama administration to stand down and avoid fighting with Fox News and its correspondents.

In an interview with MSNBC, the columnist -- who is promoting her new book on presidents and their campaigns -- also stressed the White House ought to "stay out of these fights."

"They can only take you down. You can't kill the messenger," said Thomas, who has covered every president from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama.

Whether the White House takes her advice, however, is another story. Just this weekend, Senior Adviser David Axelrod charged Fox was "not really a news organization." And Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel twice insinuated the channel was a danger to the craft of journalism itself.

White House plan: Neuter the Chamber (politico.com)

The White House and congressional Democrats are working to marginalize the Chamber of Commerce — the powerful business lobby opposed to many of President Barack Obama’s first-year priorities — by going around the group and dealing directly with the CEOs of major U.S. corporations.

Since June, senior White House officials have met directly with executives from more than 55 companies, including Chamber members Pfizer, Eastman Kodak and IBM.

“We prefer the approach — particularly in this climate — where the actual people who are on the front lines, running businesses, trying to create jobs, come and advise us on policy,” senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett told POLITICO in a not-so-subtle effort to portray the Chamber as out of touch with business reality.

Valerie Jarrett was married to the son of Vernon Jarrett who was good friends with Frank Davis — both communist.

The Bowman and Jarrett families were very close and Valerie Bowman married Vernon’s son.

It gets even better, Jarrett’s mother was friends with Tom Ayers, father of Bill Ayers.

It all is beginning to fit together the more you look into relationships.

It looks like Obama was groomed by Frank Davis (communist) and introduced into the Chicago scene by the same person (Davis originally came from Chicago).

Until I did the research on Tom Ayers, I never knew he was a major player in IL politics.

Obama Is Giddy That Insurance Industry Stock Is Dropping (GatewayPundit)

Has America ever had such an anti-capitalist leader? This was just sick.

Obama got excited talking about the drop in health insurance stocks.

Reuters reported, via FOX Nation:
U.S. President Barack Obama said on Thursday that the drop in the health insurance stocks this week was a sign the industry has become nervous that a healthcare reform bill may pass.

“This is when the insurance companies are really going to start gearing up,” Obama told a town-hall event in New Orleans.

“Their stock went down when the Senate Finance Committee voted out that bill. Now they’re getting nervous and, by they way, they have been wildly profitable over the last decade.”

Obama’s $787 Billion Stimulus “Created or Saved” 20 Jobs in Connecticut, 28 Jobs in Vermont & 22 Jobs in New Hampshire

From the Obama government website Recovery.gov. 3.6 million jobs have been lost since Obama became president.

But don’t worry. The state-run media says that Obama is looking at all options to creating jobs.
Obama would have done better if he would have opened a McDonalds in each state.

Is it too late to ask for our $787 billion back?

“Based on his appointments and based on who he’s got with him he’s the most left president that I’ve seen in my lifetime.”

Bill O’Reilly ripped on President Obama and his radical Far Left administration tonight.

Brit Hume joined in. The two discussed Team Obama’s attacks on FOX News including the latest directive from the White House to the state-run media to “isolate” the poopular fair and balanced network.

Fox News Reaches Across Party Lines (Poll: Almost 50% of Fox News Audience Democrats, Independents) [News Max]

Is Fox News “an arm of the Republican Party” as White House Communications Director Anita Dunn says?

Democratic and independent voters beg to differ. A national survey conducted for the League of American Voters by the Global Marketing Research Center during last week shows that 46 percent of those who watch Fox News “just about every day” are Democrats or independents as are 50 percent of those who watch it “several times each week” or more.

Overall, the survey showed that 21 percent of all American voters watched Fox News every day and 18 percent watched it several times each week.

So, combined, 39 percent watched the station several times each week or more.

• Among Democrats, 17 percent watched it several times each week or more

• Among Independents, 46 percent watched the station several times each week or more

• And among Republicans, 55 percent watched it several times each week or more

Sky News goes free (theregister.co.uk)

Sky News is now streaming its TV channel for free over its website 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Despite Rupert Murdoch's mumblings about charging for all online content, the site is free - for now at least.

Murdoch said yesterday that it was time for aggregators and search engines must start paying for news content - a slight refinement on previous announcements which seemed to want to get some money out of the readers.

Presenter sorry for loopy polly moment (Oz journalist's 'crazy' gesture about conservative senator)
[The Australian]

AN ABC news presenter has apologised to a Coalition senator after she was caught on air pulling a face and twirling a finger to suggest he was crazy.

ABC2's Virginia Trioli was shown making the gesture on ABC News Breakfast just moments after vision of Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce talking about the Government's proposed Emissions Trading Scheme to tackle climate change was aired.

Trioli has told The Australian that she has apologised to the senator.

"Yes, it was off-air and an uncharacteristically frustrated moment from me, and the senator was very gracious in accepting my apology. Lesson learned."

So Fox News "isn't a news organization?" Then the rest of those phony cable news and broadcast news organizations can be catagorized as the White House propaganda arm.

Audited newspaper circulation figures are being released in the next few days. Wanna bet there's some huge paid circulation declines? Anybody know the exact date when they'll release the bad-news figures for the last six months?

Anonymous said...

It's this coming Monday for the circ figures being released and hell yeah there will be some big moaning and groaning at McClatchy. This is the kind of data they don't want advertisers to see and you can't blame them with all the drops. It's going to be hell.
