Michael Ledeen says the evidence is showing the surge has already achieved dramatic results: Sunni sheiks in Anbar are cooperating with US and Iraqi forces to defeat Al Qaeda, Fallujah is calm, and as the British leave Basra the violence there has dropped. In Baghdad, Shiites are fighting the extremists.
None of this is news to those of us paying attention to milblogs and the alternative media. But if all you read is the mainstream print media you are getting short-changed.
