Dan Riehl finds some phony outrage based on out-of-context quotes

Dan Riehl has a good story which shows how lefty activists get anti-GOP stories into the media.

Here are the details. A lefty group (Think Progress) lifts a Mitch McConnell quote out of context to make it sound like he said something different. The lefty group then pitches the story to the Courier-Journal in Kentucky, which takes the out-of-context quote and runs a story about people outraged at Mitch McConnell.

Here is the Mitch McConnell article. Now watch how the Courier-Journal uses the out-of-context quote:

In a revealing moment of candor, Sen. Mitch McConnell expressed his feelings about the men and women in uniform, who are dying every day in Iraq and Afghanistan and whom he otherwise claims to support, when he said, "Nobody is happy about losing lives, but remember, these are not draftees, these are full-time professional soldiers." ... TROY
TORSTRICK

And no big surprise: Troy Torstrick is a lefty activist with a public record of anti-GOP activism and "Bushhitler" quotes on blogs. Riehl has links. You can decide for yourself if you think Think Progress and the Courier-Journal are showing integrity.
