Iraqi court convicts terrorist for role in the deadly Yazidi bombings, which killed hundreds

Multi-National Force - Iraq is reporting an Iraqi Court has convicted Muhammad al-Mat-yuti for his role in the deadly Yazidi bombings during August 2007. Those bombings involved a series of truck bombs which killed hundreds of Iraqis this past August. Muhammad al-Afri, the overall mastermind of the Ya-zidi attack, was killed by coalition forces during a targeted raid on September 3rd.

The military also said more than 4,000 cases have been tried in Iraqi civil and criminal courts since 2007. Dozens of courts are operating in major cities across Iraq with over 1,100 judges, prosecutors, and examining magistrates enforcing the rule of law to hold individuals responsible for their actions.
