Thursday I noted the strange case of 22 year old nut job Gary German Talis, the guy who was arrested at a Laura Bush children's books event. This genius yelled profanities at Laura Bush and began screaming about Iraq and Iran. After John Lovetro told Talis to shut up, a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, Talis was apparently seen punching Lovetro's 18-year old wheelchair-bound daughter, Maureen Lovetro. Talis was arrested by police for the assault on Maureen.An account of the incident was published in the New York Post, and the Internet quickly spread the news far and wide. Almost immediately, Talis began a PR campaign of his own.

Talis has gone on You Tube to proclaim his innocence. I watched his video didn't find it convincing; see the video here and see what you think. (Not many people will buy Talis' claim that Lovetro used his daughter's wheelchair as a battering ram against Talis.) Talis gave an interview on a Truther radio show. A Truther web site claims Talis was "framed". (Leave it to conspiracy theorists to come up with a conspiracy to explain the arrest.)

The police investigation is on-going.
I'm betting Talis won't prevail. Don't forget Talis, not the father, was arrested. Jimmie at Sundries Shack is convinced police saw Talis committing the assault.
