Staff from TIZA Muslim school assault television news crew

A number of bloggers have been following the developments regarding the Tarik ibn Zayad Academy (TIZA) in Minnesota.

TIZA is a state-funded charter school but there have been allegations it functions as a defacto Muslim School.

Katherine Kersten, a conservative columnist at the Star Tribune, highlighted the problems with the school in two columns she wrote about the school. You can read her columns here and here.
.
Lefties rallied around the school, claiming Kersten and other critics were anti-Muslim bigots. Liberal state legislator Mindy Greiling fired off a letter to editor demanding that Kersten be fired (letter here).
.
In the lastest development, the Minnesota department of education found several issues where the school was violating laws regarding religion The school was notified it had to correct areas relative to religion at the school.
.
On Monday a KSTP TV news crew went to the school to do a news story, and staff from the school attacked the crew.
In an attempt to report about the new findings from the Department of Education, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS went to TiZA. While on school grounds, our crew was attacked by school officials. Our photographer was injured while wrestling with the two men over the camera.

Our photographer was examined by paramedics and suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are looking at the videtape and other evidence to see if charges will be filed.
