Cartoonist at McClatchy's Anchorage Daily News leaving

E&P:
Another McClatchy newspaper -- The Anchorage Daily News -- is losing an editorial cartoonist.

"Our three-person opinion staff (not counting editorial page editor Matthew Zencey) was told that one of our positions would be eliminated," cartoonist Peter Dunlap-Shohl said in an e-mail to E&P. "On considering a number of factors both personal and journalistic, I volunteered to be the body."

Dunlap-Shohl, who joined the Daily News about 25 years ago, did tell Daily Cartoonist blogger Alan Gardner that now is not the ideal time to leave given the presence of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the Republican presidential ticket.
