McClatchy tries to revive McClatchy Interactive

McClatchy has called the paramedics to save McClatchy Interactive. On Friday, McClatchy named David G. Fitzpatrick vice president of Strategic Initiatives at McClatchy Interactive. Martin Streicher, Chief Technology Officer at McClatchy Interactive, has resigned. He had been at McClatchy Interactive just over a year.

One commenter on this blog says there has been a steady stream of people leaving McClatchy Interactive. Another one put it this way: "open discussions at cubicles about "mass exodus."

Can someone clarify how many vice presidents MI has? Do they have any employees that don't have VP attached to their job title?

Why did MI need to create a new VP level position for Fitzpatrick when they already have a Business Development department with it's own VP?

Answer: Good Ole Boy Network

You hit the nail on the head there. That's how the whole MI operation runs.

This was one of the biggest problems at MI when I was there; Too many chiefs, not enough indians. Everybody was a "manager" or a "VP" of some sort.
