The Sun News laid off 11 people, or 4.8 percent of its work force, Wednesday in the latest wave of cutbacks caused by the lagging economy.
The cuts came in six divisions, including the newsroom, advertising and circulation.
The newspaper had previously laid off a half dozen workers and offered voluntary buyouts to others.
"The necessity of such painful steps is especially disappointing because we believed the cuts made two months ago would be sufficient to see us through the sharp revenue declines that have beset the newspaper industry," Publisher P.J. Browning said in a letter to employees Wednesday.
On Bloody Monday, the Sun News cut 9 positions.
