Sales departments gutted?

In comments, somebody weighs in on problems in ad sales at the News & Observer:

At the N&O the entire auto sales team put in for the packages. They dont have a clue! In fact it seems that they will let them all go. That leaves the department with only 4 reps all online sales people. So much for the business loyalty and the those relationships that have kept car dealers advertising with the N&O.

Sandy Fain the clueless "niche" director of classifieds says she cant understand why we need reps for different divisions. They will be moving to make all reps responsible for territories. Her boss Gary Smith whose only goal is to save internet has single handedly destroyed
classified. So guess what?

Now you can look forward to retail reps selling auto dealers, real estate, carpet cleaners and the wonderful Living in Style (Dieing in style more like it) and the other MUST have ill fated magazines.
