McClatchy shares surge 22 percent Friday
A 22 percent increase in one day!? For comparison, the DOW was up just 3.35 percent today.
MNI had unusually high trading volume today. Does that mean a new development is about to break?

It would be interesting to know who is doing the buying on what information.
What it probably means is that a bunch of short-sellers were unwinding their positions, and that it has little to do with whether McClatchy is a good buy on its own merits at this price.
