Miami Herald employee says the Herald's political coverage is very fair

Edward Schumacher-Matos, ombudsman at McClatchy's Miami Herald, says he has reviewed the political coverage by the Herald, and declares the coverage is evenhanded.

From comments at the Herald web site, some people aren't buying Schumacher-Matos' praise of the Herald's fairness:

...my husband and I are cancelling our subscription as well. I urge ALL Republicans to do the same... Month after month, week after week, day after day, all the Miami Herald does is twist the truth, cover up for Obama, fail to investigate his past and associations... The leftist media went after "Joe the Plumber" with a vengeance because he dared to ask the "The Great One, The Messiah," a question. They dug into his past, revealing information about his private life to discredit his question. He is NOT running for president. Why don't you do the same for Obama?
Hint to Edward Schumacher-Matos: when your analysis of Obama's ties to Ayers is indisinguishable from an Obama campaign ad, people notice.

My post on how McClatchy has alienated nearly half its subscriber base (Republicans) is here.
