This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

McClatchy Watch go to Bottomline and read what they say about the cuts at the KC Star
Considering the trickle down fall out of the WHOLE economy, McClatchy is getting hit from many directions. Big advertisers like Circuit City, Mervyns and others are closing, filing bankruptcy,or just plain not spending $$$. Newspaper ads are expensive. Pruitt and the wrecking crew can only grasp at straws now. Are they still in denial? Good luck to the KC star. McClatchy's home turf is foundering and it seems the strongest papers are the weeklies. McClatchy stock is cheaper than a gallon of gas!!! It'll be interesting to see what their next move is! I heard they are going to sell off all the junk left over after they closed the Modesto Bee production. They haven't found a buyer for the press last I heard. Once they sell the press then the building goes. Subscribers still getting late papers! Poor reproduction etc.

A new Web site has been created by people concerned about the corporate cutbacks at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. It's called savethes-t.com
