CEO shares the pain? She will not accept a bonus! [The assumption is she had a bonus coming,] I doubt laid-off employees care, that after accepting a big salary-cake, she forgoes the frosting. Pruitt shouldn’t get more than a cupcake, no frosting, after offering nothing but crumbs to longtime employees.

Fitz & Jen
Fitz: Lee Enterprises annual meeting proxy, filed with the SEC, says of Mary Junck, “the company’s CEO informed us she would not accept any bonus for 2008.” The assumption is she had a bonus coming, and that's true -- as far as it goes. But it might not go too far in convincing laid-off employees and battered investors that she's sharing their pain.

Anonymous 8:44 - I'm sure the ADN will jump on the story, as soon as they can figure out an anti-Palin spin to it.

We have a couple of excellent posters on things Alaskan. I hope they check in with the daily Pat Whack-o report.

Every time I read this CEO shares the pain crap, it make me hurl. Who is so stupid to think a multimillionaire shares a working person’s pain. Get real, stop this bullshit before I throw out a 'Weaver’ word.

There are reported to be a lot of editor changes in the works. I suppose it would be too much to hope that the nutty one be replaced. Plus, replaced with another nutcase? But, it is all about Hope and Change.

Forget about, "Hope and Change." They separated the wheat from the chaff...and kept the chaff.

After the announcement of Q4 numbers from the New York Times & Media General and their decision to nolonger to post monthly numbers & offer the Bay area properties One-Week Furloughs.

Its pretty much a given MNi will not only offer some type of major cost cutting but also ask the employees to take time off without pay.

The interesting thing for MNI is will they use the cost saving to pay down the debt or use as a tool to pay the families and senior staff as some type of bonus tool?
