whats going on in myrtle beach sc TheSunNews is closing it doors, its a tourist town they wake up to get the paper its bad enough everything else is closing jobs are hard to find,i guess there will be 300 more people on the unemployment line is there anyway they could not layoff people at the newspaper

Anonymous said...

Sure, had they reported the news, there was a chance.

But if tourists don’t want to be propagandized while on vacation, who, prey tell, will you ever sell you phony coins, pictures and other miscellanies trinkets to?

No worries. Once the leftist rag closes it's door, there will be an opening for someone who recognizes that the key to success is to be “absolutely independent in politics, aiming to deal by all men and all parties with impartiality and fearlessness.” - William Rockhill Nelson

Hearing that Monday or Tuesday is the day for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram layoffs.

It looks like we've reached the point of no return.

Even if MNI wanted to change its format from "We're the power" to
"Truth to power" no one would believe them.

The Alaska Dispatch has published a leaked e-mail from the Sacramento Bee about upcoming layoffs, wage cuts, and furloughs:

Oh, never mind - I see you already wrote about the Bee memo.

Videmus Omnia, Thank you for that link. I finally had time to read the whole article today. I especially enjoy news from the Alaskan papers.

The liberal McClatchy newspapers, which I no longer read, are going ‘Tits Up”
on the Redneck Riviera.

I can't find anything saying the myrtle beach paper is going to shut down..it that just something anom623 wrote or is there any truth to it?

Anonymous said...

So how come this great blog isn't on the Pajamas Media blog network?

Old Obama/Soros game book play. Stupid one, plants post. Tag team stupider one, remarks about the stupid post. Someone wrote something the ‘Stupid Ones’ don’t want people to know. We have to have these whackjobs, they make our work to expose them a lot easier.

Anon 10:32 -- C'mon, the comments are from June 2008. Do you have any real (and more recent) information about the Sun News? Eight month old comments aren't particularly helpful.

Anonymous said...

I don't think the 'Stupid ones' know McClatchy's journalism-malpractice is a part of the reason they will lose their job. They are part of the problem. It will take a few months looking for a job of any kind, to introduce them to the real world.

Are the marxists who are about to be laid off still living in some type of bubble?

Do they think once they get laid off, they will easily find another marxist host to feed off of?

If so, what host and at what rate of compensation?

Anonymous said...

Jobs should be easy to find for classically trained professional journalists with their English or journalism degrees.

That is as long as they know the difference between regular and super size.

Anonymous said...

7:40: Any other details on the S-T layoffs? Are you in good position to know?

Anonymous said...

Of course they are. There is only one cure for such people. Even they understand that. Stalin, Mao, Ayers, Hitler...the list goes on, but Obama's first employer explained it best.

This blog would be a little easier to take if it weren't for the morons who call journalists Marxists. Hey, dumbass: As much as you'd like to think that the "MSM" is goin downhill because of "a liberal bias," it just ain't so, Joe. It's all bidness, babe. Capitalism, chief.
If it was all about ideology, the Wall Street Journal wouldn't be in the shits, too.
...ps...your rebuttal post is bullshit, too.

Anonymous said...

I agree w/ Anon4:26. I am so tired of all of the right wing crap on here. This would be an awesome blog if it weren't for all of the Democrat-hating, Marxist references. Let's stay on topic and talk about what's really happening at the papers and report layoff rumors/updates. That's when this blog is at its best - otherwise it's just scroll, baby scroll thru the comments for me.

RE: Hearing that Monday or Tuesday is the day for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram layoffs.

February 15, 2009 7:40 AM

Jim Witt, fresh from a week's vacation, was seen in the building Sunday morning. Also in the building were people from HR.
Hmmm.
Bloody Monday for the S-T? Who knows!

Anonymous said...

Yo 4:26... guess what? you don't control the discussion here.

Most people hate the MSM because it infested by a bunch of left wing assholes play acting the role of journalists. You know, those classically trained professionals that can't tell the difference between an editorial and a news story.

Good by, good night and good riddance.

Anonymous said...

Ok, let's stay on topic.

When MNI goes tits up because of the bias they say doesn’t exist, what are all you Marxists going to do?

Anonymous said...

If it was all about ideology, the Wall Street Journal wouldn't be in the shits, too.
--
I'm not quite sure how to tell you this stupid leftist, but the Wall Street Journal and USA Today are the only papers in this country that are making money hand over fist.

There is no idiot like a leftist idiot.

Anonymous said...

The right wing posters never have any knowledge on anything here. They just throw words like marxist, liberal and troll. They must have been the first ones McClatchy let go and can't find a way to move on. Thier just a bunch of ignorant assholes who knows only about 10 words.

Anonymous said...

So it is your contention that McClatchy fired right wingers first because you think that you are smarter than them? Very interesting.

Your comment is duly noted. Especially when you say that right winger have no knowledge, immediately following a leftist who makes the absolutely false claim that the Wall Street Journal is in the shitter just as McClatchy is.

I wonder who it is that really brings nothing to the table?

Anonymous said...

You all miss the point.

All the political nastiness directed at McClatchy and its employees is precisely the aim of this site. This site doesn't ever really have any inside info -- it's all links to respectable sites such as E&P and Fitz & Jen and Alan Mutter.

McClatchy Watch wants only the worst for the company and its employees, and Kevin Gregory and his band of sycophants are happy at their suffering.

If you want to post political stuff go to Politico.

This is about the Newspaper Business and what Corporate America is doing to the people of the United States.

This right wing crap needs to be published on Rush Limbaugh's website.

I would rather be employed by the Government than a bunch of greedy thugs running the companies today, including the newspaper business. Once they get rid of the good journalist, who will look after the crooks in Corporate America. Why did we not know of the economic depression before all of it hit the fan. Where were the good journalist back in the summer when we should have been warned? Why did we not know about Madoff and people like him, you know, Lehman Marcus, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and all of the Wall Steet Mafia.
Was any of the newspapers looking into the problem? Probably not, they were worried about getting fired and how they were going to pay their bills.

They can buy $4000 dollar trash cans (Bank of America), and layoff the workers. Stuff like this is ruining the faith of workers and this is not a good thing.

We don't need to reward greed and dishonesty with year end bonuses. They freeze workers pay and raise insurance to the highest level with less coverage. I wish someone with integrity would come on the scene and clean this mess up.

Now every company is into it. Even the ones that don't need to be. More money for year end bonuses.

All you idiots know how to do is look through Sarah Palin's garbage
and "Have thrills go up your legs."

So since you don't do the job you were entrusted to do in the first place, take it to the nearest McDonalds where your gonna work next Pal!

"Lehman Marcus?" WTF

Are you some dumb blonde, or a panzie schizophrenic who can’t decide whether to talk about banking or shopping?

Lehman Brothers Inc., excuse me, I must have been thinking about going shopping.

Please answer my question, or anybody else, why did we not know of this economic collapse last summer?

Was someone in the newspaper business asleep at the wheel?

Were all the journalist on furlough or just gone to work at McDonalds?

Well Girly-girl, they ALL had their head so far up the DNC's ass, they were too busy taking pulses rather then report on it.

From MNI publishing stock tables that were a week old, do you think any reporter knows what a CDO is?

Soon, they will be selling CD's but not CDO's
