Rhonda Lokeman's info removed from Creators Syndicate web site -- but not the Kansas City Star's web site

Creators Syndicate says they have finally removed Rhonda Lokeman's info from their web site. Here is the email sent to Nick at Will Not Be Televised:

Subject: Rhonda Chriss Lokeman

Dear Mr. Charles:

We have updated our website to reflect the fact that Rhonda Chriss Lokeman is no longer writing columns for Creators Syndicate. Her last column was published on December 28, 2008.

Thank you for bringing this oversight to our attention.

Best,
Jessica Burtch

Yes, the people at Creators Syndicate are late -- but they're still taking care of business quicker than the Star -- as of last night, Rhonda Lokeman's info was still up on the Kansas City Star's web site.

At this point, I suspect the web people at the KC Star are deliberately keeping it up to spite the big boss, KC Star publisher Mark Zieman -- who happens to be married to Rhonda Lokeman.

I wonder what Derrick Donovan's pitch is on this one. Oopps...I probably shouldn't use the word, "Pitch"

Derek is willing to admit the obvious, it's getting him to do something about it that's the challenge.

Well, that's not true. He'll usually clam up and not say anything, followed by denouncing you for hyperbole for noticing, followed by doing nothing about it.

Derrick Donovan's you know whats, are pickled, and residing in a jar on the top shelf in ZeeClod’s office. Right next to the jar that is labeled,
-MZ- Property of RL-
Eeewww!

Good thing we have the KC bloggers to watch the Driving Divi's case. You just know the gang that can't report straight will be remarking on the growth of dead trees still, and miss yet another news goody.

It seems to me, the Red Star should just stay with the Rho pic for good. It is like a tribute to an aging, uncouth queen. Her mug shot rivals the pics you see in the Post Office. Kinda fitting for the Scar go out in a blaze of gory.

Today is moving day for Star-Telegram's reporters who were left in the Northeast office. The handful who remain are moving downtown, to the building that was to be sold.

Sad day.

Writers pay to belong to ‘Creators Syndicate’ right?

The Star actually removed some of its latest victims from the newsroom contact list yesterday, but Steve Winn is till listed on the editorial page and Lewis Diuguid is listed as a VP.

They haven't produced a quality newspaper in years and you want them to manage the website any better?

Just curious, but it might still be up because the links to it were removed (and thus the only way to get to it is to have book marked it).

I searched the site and couldn't see a link to this page, but it is a big ass site.

Maybe if you stop mentioning it there would be no way to get to it? Or it could just be that no one from the Star that can make the fix comes here (or cares that someone has found a "dead page").

Just my $.75

Coming here would require reading skills, would it not?

Removing the Rhonda embarrassment?
Her case is coming up, and there can be no defense for her drunken actions. It is a very good thing she never took the Zee’s name. The bloggers will never let the Scar get away with their usual devious selected news coverage. She refused the breathalyzer test, drove on three tires and a rim, and was abusive to the officer. I hope she gets the rack.

Rhonda is probably making plans to leave her beloved KC.
LOL

“victim”- I was thinking about that word applying to the present situation, and it seems it probably is a good choice of words in many cases. Only someone losing their job and a career could express if they feel the term “victim” applies to them.

Victim : 1.somebody or something harmed: somebody who or something that is adversely affected by an action or circumstance 2.somebody duped: somebody who is tricked or exploited 3.helpless person: somebody who experiences misfortune and feels helpless to remedy it

It would appear that The Star's inhumane relations office has chosen to visit us once again. Do we have any reports of Star employees cheering on their way out the door, pink slip waving in the air?

Rhonda still flying at the KC Scar?
The date with Rho’s picture doesn’t look outdated to me.

It's either still there for archive purposes or someone working on the site hasn't been informed yet to take it down. Communication in the KC Star is not a strong point.

While they don't have his picture up anymore, Hearne Christopher's section there is still up. http://www.kansascity.com/entertainment/columnists/hearne_christopher_jr/ Obviously they aren't too quick to remove some of their columnists sections.

It would also be interesting to know how many are left dealing with the website, or if it is someone who has to deal with the site on top of several other duties.

It seems stupid that the KC Red Star features a crummy website, when that will be the only option left open to them in the future. At least Zieman is consistent, crummy.

There may be work slowdowns going on at The Star. That was suggested to me by an email from a Star employee the other day.

I remember back in the day when the star had a work slowdown it was a dramatic thing. The department chairman (union steward) would go back to the locker room and change into a Red T-Shirt. Everyone knew (including management) when he came out all production would immediately slow to a crawl.

It was kind of dirty and didn't happen very often. When it did though, it was a blast watching the management all scurry to the superintendent's office where they would all huddle for 10 or 15 minutes before buckling.

What a perfect way to demonstrate to my superiors and society in general the value I place on my career by throwing a tantrum.

Pathetic.

What was clear from the email was that work was not getting done. The motivation is another issue. It may be just a complete absence of morale, or it may be more organized. Either way, the work was not getting done.

Given the fact that The Star's management is not basing the terminations on rational criteria, what difference does it make if they throw a tantrum? Indeed, that may be what Zieman responds to given what also appears to be widespread reverse discrimination.

Regardless of the motivation, I can only imagine how proud the family must be when they think of the work their loved one is doing.
