This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Clearing out at the Modesto Bee
Caption: "Pete was gone in the first round of the "involuntary transition program." We were in disbelief."
...or round 2 if you count the first round of voluntary buyouts two months before that. But there have been so many at Mod Bee it's almost hard to keep track.
Your right it was round 2. Yes it is hard to keep track. I heard to watch around the middle of June for more. Any truth to that rumor? Will the Modesto Bee become just a Sacramento Bee bureau? Stay tuned boys and girls for the next installment of "As the Bee Turns".
No, it was Round 1 of the "involuntary transtions." There have only been 4 "involuntary transitions" to date. The first group of people to leave were thru attrition or buyouts.

Take a look around--there are more empty offices and cubes than full ones. You could shoot a cannon through the hallways and hit nothing (and no one).
That was round one on bloody Monday. Well we all know what happened next, and then, and then, and then.
