The N&O are mere rank AMATEURS
'Dallas Morning News' Parent Completes Axing of 500 Jobs
CHICAGO A.H. Belo Corp. said it largely completed its previously-announced reduction of 500 jobs companywide today.
Dallas Morning News President and General Manager John McKeon said about 200 positions were eliminated across all departments at that newspaper and its siblings, including the Denton (Texas) Record-Chronicle, the Al Dia Spanish-language weekly and DFW Printing Co.
About 100 employees were let go last month at Belo's Providence (R.I.) Journal.
Last fall, the company bought out 410 employees and laid off 90 others.
'Nevada Appeal' Cuts Back on Publication Days
CARSON CITY, Nev. The Nevada Appeal will cut publication to five days a week from seven beginning May 4, the newspaper announced.
In a notice to readers, Publisher Niki Gladys said Monday the newspaper will publish Wednesdays through Sundays, with online editions only on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Gladys says the move is necessary because of declining advertising revenues, especially early in the week.
Extra crossword and other puzzles will be included in Sunday editions for the next two days. They also will be available online.
The move comes a month after the 144-year-old newspaper switched from a broadsheet to what it describes as a "tall tabloid" format.

um, they will. you stole their content and tried to benefit from it financially.
And just how did he try to benefit from it financially there Perry Mason?
You are truly a dimwit. Even the most ignorant of hacks know that is pointless and costs more to pursue than what they could ever get.
Personally, I'd send their desperate email to the four corners of the earth just to let the world know how bad they have fallen. Then replace the picture with something more appropriate like Jed Clampett's old homestead.
I agree with 7:34. I'm sure he's not making a ton of money with the Google ads that appear on the same page as the photo he lifted from the paper, but he is profiting from it.
What Google ads? I don't see any ads at all.
7:55
Usually folks that are quick to label other folks such as what you did are what the general population call ignorant.
The fact that >you< can not see the ads on this site does not mean the owner of this site is not making Money. I see ads for Goodle even below this comment section>>>

Good thing you post as anonymous!
I dont agree with N&O but i dont think that the owners of this blog is stupid enough to continue breaking copyright laws for a site that he has invested so much time in running.
I just love the way he spends all this time slagging McClatchy and then swipes its work. The Sacramento Bee should have come after him when he stole their teabag pictures because his own were so amateur.
Intellectual property is property. He's a thief.
Intellectual property is property. He's a thief.
And they better protect it. It's all the collateral that they have left...."And what am I bid for this masterpiece photo of this bankrupt leftist monstrosity????"
Sorry dude, I am with the NO hacks. I'd too embarrassed to have the picture of my building seen if I were them too.
Remember, there are returning soldiers who might become radicalized and want to do us harm.
Well, the N&O has a point, but anybody know why they still have a news researcher left? Actually, there must be at least two left, b/c Brooke is still there, too. Why? Who is so inept at reporting that they can't do a simple google or make a few phone calls?
I am glad to see the N&O standing up for itself and more importantly for its remaining content producers. They should have taken a more aggressive stance long ago. Instead they have been giving away for free the one and only thing that ever mattered, their content.

@3:35
The news researchers also archive the paper, tend its library, maintain innumerable databases, and perform reporting tasks as well. They mine data for stories, flesh out background for reporters and editors on deadline -- they even create resource packets of facts and contacts for field use during hurricanes.
They are huge asset to the newsroom. It goes way beyond Googling.
Anon 6:17 Thank you Mr. Atoz.
@6:17. Ooohh! packets of facts! Surely there's no website that would have all that information. Saving that money would mean saving the jobs of a couple/handful of reporters. Those people are much more important.
"Ah, yes my friend, I will have that packet of information you requested right after I feed my camel."
It may shock you, but often when you are in a hurricane, the electricity doesn't work. Because a hurricane is a large storm with extremely high winds followed by flooding, you see. Often, they destroy infrastructure and kill people. One even cut a channel through an Outer Banks island several years ago, stranding the residents -- and a reporter -- for days. Often the reporters have to communicate via satellite phone.
So, yes, to a reporter in the field a packet of facts and resources is a huge asset. Not everything in the world can be Googled.
You should get out more.
You should get out more.
You just spouted that packet of drivel and then tell someone to get out more? Denise, you are truly a gem. Too bad you're next to take the long walk.
It doesn't matter if you make money or not from it. If it's not yours you can't use it. Period. That's the law.
