"Father of the Year" award winner admits he is under investigation for funneling campaign funds to mistress
Awesome. John Edwards accepted a Father of the Year award in June 2007, eight months before his reported love child was born. The guy has 3 children and a wife with cancer. And he was having an affair with a bimbo while running for the highest office in the land.
And like a true Democrat, he was apparently paying off the mistress with other people's money.

MSNBC had a segment on this morning about the affair.
When another person mentioned that he may be the father of the baby, (Like MNI) the host quickly cut off the segment and said “thats gossip and we don’t do that here”.

Elizabeth Edwards told cheating John not to run in 2006. She was worried the news would leak out, and it was the loose woman’s fault, John boy was just led astray by a whore. Sort of like Lovable Bill, and that bad 21 year old cigar girl, Monica.
Liz publicizes her book [snip] and says what she thinks of the younger woman who seduced her husband, Rielle Hunter. In the book, she doesn't name Hunter, but dismisses her rival as "pathetic" and says she [seduced her husband] outside a New York hotel with the corny come-on: "You are so hot".

John Dresser at the N&O bagged the story and did not break the Edwards affair/love child story till way late in the game. Has he ever explained the connection with Edwards and come clean about any influence or contacts with the Senator?

Translation: MSNBC and the rest of the media reported what Sarah Palin said and did, and the majority of voters concluded that she wasn't qualified to be vice president of the United States. We right-wing nuts call that a hate campaign.
Here's a little background on John Drescher speaking personally with John Edwards weeks after the National Enquirer broke the mistress story.
Edwards picked up the phone in October 2007 and called Drescher. According to Drecher's recounting, Edwards denied the affair, then asked him not to report on it due to his wife's illness. Drescher complied with the request from Edwards and the N&O didn't print anything on the scandal for months.
