Sarah Palin versus the Anchorage Daily News

Sarah Palin: 21,700 followers on Twitter
Anchorage Daily News: about 400 followers on Twitter

This comparison must give Sarah Palin some satisfaction, given the way she has been treated by the ADN. And I don't know how long the ADN has been on Twitter, but Palin has been on Twitter just a few weeks.
.
Update 7/3/09: Palin now has more than 47,000 followers. The Anchorage Daily News has about 1,000 followers.

Not a fair comparison. Palin has something to say.

Not a fair comparison. The newspaper's ability to express thoughts can't be limited to a hundred or so characters. And its followers' attention span isn't limited to a hundred or so characters.

I guess only 400 people are interested in the kind of loopy conspiracy theories the ADN investigates.

9:17 was one of those folks who weighed his term papers in high school. And thanks for the admission that the ADN is boring. That's about the first honest assessment I've seen from a lib on this blog.

Translation: he agrees with me and is therefore correct.

Well, that seals it: She's the next president.

9:20: ///So the paper tries to hype up a discredited rumor by doing a story on the rumor.///

Just like Limbaugh.

The ADN is suffering financially ever since their rape of Palin - circulation is way down.

It's a shame that the Obamababoon is not suffering from his rape of Palin as well.

Tweet! Tweet! TO. S&PD.

If ADN can't express thoughts in a limited space, why join Twitter?

That they joined and can't meet the Twitter standards and still be interesting shows communication incompetence.

There's also a basic intellectual disconnect in understanding what Twitter is all about. It's a problem ADN has in too many other areas as well.

***The Anchorage Daily News sent a reporter out to investigate the loopy conspiracy theory that Sarah Palin is not the mother of Trig Palin.***

That's what newspapers do, MW: Investigate rumors and reports to report on their validity or lack of validity. It's the difference between news and gossip; between professional news organizations and blogs. Get it?

Remove T.D. Way over Twitter character limit!

All other OCs, too. Twitter discussion. Twitter rules.

Twitter-Palin. Perfect marriage. Same intellect

Strange that they weren't interested in rumors of John Edwards' extra-marital affair and love child...

Even stranger that the NY Times spiked the pre-election story of Obama's ties to ACORN...

Hmmmmm.

Could it be do due to liberal media bias?

Hmmm . . . .

11:09 and 11:25, I don't know what newspapers you read and TV you watch, but the ones I read and watch reported both of these stories. Strange that you forgot. Right-wing bias? Hmmmmmm.

The ADN probably can't send a tweet from inside a metal dumpster.

Anonymous said...

I just signed up to follow Gov. Palin. Add one for Sarah!

Uh, no, it was the National Enquirer that broke the John Edwards story while the North Carolina McClatchy newspapers chose to ignore.

And how could you have read the NY Times story about ACORN when they admitted they spiked the story?

Left-wing revisionist history about left-wing liberal media?

You betcha!

“I don't know what newspapers you read”

Why would I read a useless newspaper? Or for that matter, watch the useless alphabet TV networks? Selected news is no news. I think the old media’s sinking numbers must mean I am not alone in my distaste for propaganda.

The ADN is full of loony birds for sure, but I am not sure loons tweet. I think they just molt.

The ADN is now full of buzzards. Hanging around the garbage dumpsters has demoted them even lower than the regular McClatchy loons. The few journos left there are an ugly sight. UGLY! Large fat birds, sharp beaks, beady eyes, living off dead flesh found in the garbage. What is next for these ‘fowl’ creatures? Go the way of the dodo bird would be my preference.

People just want to get parenting advice from Palin. How do you raise a slut and conceive a tard?

Anonymous said...

Palin. Always makes the libs extra crazy

Anonymous said...

Always fun to see the lefties defend rumor mongering

Anonymous said...

Mainstream media...anything to help "thier" side.

Anonymous said...

****How do you raise a slut and conceive a tard?****

Let me ask the Obamababoon's baby momma.

Anonymous said...

HA! You can't. The communist low rent bitch is dead, so take that.

What do 'professional news organizations' do? Suppress the facts, lie, fall into goosestep with other lying news organizations, go broke. That about covers that question.

Barry Soetoro (aka) Barack Hussein Obama’s father was a bigamist wasn’t he? So maybe his father was not legally married to his white bride. Of course, it may not be illegal to have two wives in Kenya. Muslims live by a different set of rules, so I hear.

You forgot to begin your fairy-tale with
"Once Upon A Time..."

The NATIONAL ENQUIRER broke the Edwards story on October 10, 2007.

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/john_edwards_cheating_scandal/celebrity/64271

The derelict mainstream media FINALLY got on board in August of 2008.

Your head-in-the-sand denial of provable facts, combined with your mindless auto-response reference to "right wing media" is quite frankly, astounding.

Jabber, jabber, jabber. Can't any lefty, righty Luddites get down to Tweet length? At least Sarah thought fits.

///The derelict mainstream media FINALLY got on board in August of 2008.///

I heard both stories on Fox News. So who cares who else did or didn't report them and when?

Josh Painter said...

The earliest ADN tweet I could find on the liberal newspaper's Twitter page was from August 12, 2008.

Twitter: Sarah Palin beats ADN by 50 to 1- JP
