"We have great respect for the people, and we've got problems with the government. We have problems with the government because the government has been threatening, has made decisions that --and statements that -- really have isolated the people of Iran.
"My message to the young in Iran is that someday your society will be free. And it will be a blessed time for you. My message to the women of Iran is that the women of America share your deep desire for children to grow up in a hopeful society and to live in peace."

Spare me.
The Bush version of freedom was, "Let's go into your country and ram democracy down your throat because the USA has the divine right to choose your political destiny."
While the Obamaian version is, "Let's do what I want you to do because I am divine and have a right to choose your political destiny."
7:40AM You got OWNED !!
---The Bush version of freedom was, "Let's go into your country and ram democracy down your throat because the USA has the divine right to choose your political destiny."---
LOL Bush derangement lives on.
Liberated from the oppression of Saddam Hussein and given the right to vote, millions of Iraqi's cast their ballots, and chose their own political destiny.
And then they danced in the streets, because they were finally free.
Only a demented lib would see this as a negative.
I was never a big George Bush fan, mainly because I knew both he and his father were closet liberals and Global Socialists. The truth is though, every single day of Obama puts a shine on Bush that is going to make him look pearl coated by the time the messiah is done.
I never thought I would say it, but, BRING BACK BUSH!
Bush spoke about freedom. Obama goes to Cairo for his much-heralded speech to "the Muslim world" -- doesn't mention freedom but announces Muslims invented the magnetic compass, algebra, and navigational tools.
That's leadership???
Don't forget, Obama also said the US had one of the largest Muslim populations in the world.
Who's stupider? Obama or Biden?
... millions of Iraqi's cast their ballots, and chose their own political destiny.

They may have cast their votes but they have no idea how to operate as a deomcratic society. Republicans and Democratics don't have a love-fest going but they aren't killing each other off like the Sunnis and the Shiites.
Democracy happens by evolution of a people, not through force of will of an outside power.
At this point, who cares what Bush said? It's about as relevent today as anything Obama says about foreign policy. These windbags all huff and puff and do nothing when it comes to Iran. This is the country that held Americans hostage for months and they're still telling us to stick it.
****Republicans and Democratics don't have a love-fest going but they aren't killing each other off like the Sunnis and the Shiites.****
The Bloods and the Crips disagree.
And everybody knows that every Sunni and Shiite are killing each other. Good grief.
"They may have cast their votes but they have no idea how to operate as a deomcratic society."
So what? Are you suggesting they were better off under Saddam Hussein?

I do believe the USA did fight a civil war over political differences, so why are disagreements in Iraq so shocking? Of course the corrupt media would have us forget about our little war, just as they try to make us forget about our countrymen that were killed on 9/11. Remember the media trying to dictate what news we could see? Seeing 9/11 victims jumping to their death was just too disturbing, but seeing the inmates in Abu Ghraib prison was something to trumpet around the world, even if it festered hate that killed more of our troops. The corrupt media still does not realize they have blown their cover, and NOTHING will bring their credibility back. Poor dumb fools that they are.
In LA, the Latinos and Blacks are killing each other in significant numbers. In the Sunnis and the Shiites civil war scenario, we should consider these two groups at war reason enough to disband our form of government as lost.

Saddam Hussein was brutal and oppressive but under his regime Iraq was stable compared to the way it is now. All the U.S. has done is destabilize the entire Mideast region. I'd venture to say more people have been killed in the post-9/11 U.S. intervention than during his entire time in power.
Not a popular viewpoint I know.
Not a popular viewpoint I know.
Only a complete miscreant would try to rationalize that line of thought. You are truly one sick individual.
****Not a popular viewpoint I know.****
And nor should it be. Hitler was a dictator, but kept Germany stable.
South Africa under the apartheid was much more than stable than it is now.
In 1939, German trains ran on time.
And today, in 2009, trains run on time in Germany --- not to mention France and other "socialist" countries in western Europe.
Except when the European unions are on strike because they are only getting 21 weeks of paid vacation a year , which is about 3 times a day, the trains do just fine.
Or if they are being delayed while "youths" are showing their peaceful nature by burning cars, rioting and killing people in the name of religious tolerance. Then the trains kind of have to skip a few runs.
"I'd venture to say more people have been killed in the post-9/11 U.S. intervention than during his entire time in power."
You'd "venture to say"?
LOL Apparently that means you have no factual basis.
Here's 4 actual videos of just some of Saddam's routine atrocities, hope you've got a strong stomach.

3:56, at least they run on time the vast majority of the time -- which is more than can be said for our trains, the few we have.
You are right about our trains, but then again they are operated by a quasi government agency. If you think Amtrak is fun, just wait until the same bureaucrats have charge of your health care.
Don't government agencies run the trains in Europe? They seem to do a pretty good job.
7:32 PM No, actually almost all have either privatized them or gave them semi autonomous status thus managed by private companies.
You can easily tell by the level of service which is which, but you've never been there to make your assertion. Just another would be socialist American telling us how much Europe loves living under big brother's thumb.
Actually, 8:14, the operations are run by private entities to standards required by the government, but the infrastructure is government owned and government funded. Europeans seem to be willing to pay the taxes required to have 21st-century service. And yes, I've visited Germany, France, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and I have a brother living and working in Germany.
