Kansas City Star loses another one...

John Landsberg is reporting that another veteran reporter is leaving the KC Star.

...14-year veteran reporter Mark Wiebe has taken a buyout package and will be leaving the paper today.

Wiebe's departure is expected to cause a major void in coverage in the Wyandotte County area.

"Mark has been a great asset to The Star---a solid, thoughtful reporter and a joy to work with---and this is a big loss to the paper," said Jim Fitzpatrick, who ran the Star's Wyandotte-Leavenworth Bureau and originally hired Wiebe.

Will the last reporter out please turn off the lights.

The democrat machine responsible for systematically destroying KCK as a habitable enclave is going to love this news....

Oh wait, never mind....The democrat machine will be beside themselves. No one will be setting the trap and tricking people into thinking that KCK is a habitable enclave!

Star management doesn't give a crap about losing talented veteran reporters, they only care about one less veteran paycheck they have to pay out every week or two.

The truth is most of the managing editors, VP and other higher ups at the Star are not liberal. Most reside in Johnson County, KS which is as republican and uber-conservative as the day is long. They only provide the appearance that it's a liberal paper.

Here's CNN faking a live report from Iraq from the first Gulf war.

You gotta wake up people. Democrat/Republican is just another form of control. Right now Democrats are desperately trying to paint opposition to Obama as right wing, to keep you in the whole left / right smoke and mirrors when in fact that's real grass roots movement both left, right and independent they are facing. But the dems and repubs and the MSM will always paint it left/right to keep you thinking left right.

Snap out of it sheeple.

Another one down, and how many to go? When the lights are out, it will be a victory for unbiased reporting. The Red Star still doesn't get it, there is nothing there to save, nothing.

Not even one. They're all certifiable Marxists to the last drone.

This is more of a loss for the UG. Since the days of Art Brisbane's tenure as publisher and Fitzpatrick's editorial tenure at the WYCO bureau it has basically been a PR arm of the UG. Weibe's predecessor was Steve Nicely. He retired and immediately went to work on Carol Marinovich's campaign and didn't even have to alter his writing style, or content.

Then came Weibe. A bright lad, but useless as tits on a boar hog (probably by orders). As an example, virtually 80% of Wyandotte COunty is over appraised. This is no secret, The businesses at the new shopping center the Legends are with holding their property taxes because they're on appeal. And, the city of Edwardsville is facing a budget crisis because they had to pay back over $150,000 owing to overcharges caused by over appraisals.

Yet Weibe literally fled from this story. Fled from it. The Bonner Springs Chieftain published two major front page stories on it, but not The Lackey. No, Weibe continued to write stories about how the mill levy was dropping by microscopic amounts and shouldn't we be happy that our taxes are going down?

The overappraisals incidentally, are no trivial. In the urban core they're running at 191% of actual sales values and in the burbs they're running at 123% of actual sales values.

When I was writing for the Star I offered to write a column for the WYCO edition that would have simply wondered why Marinovich had not used her influence to try and get an ally onto the Board of Public Utilities board. Fitzpatrick wasn't interested in anything even that modestly critical of Marinovich.

Lately, Weibe's office was down in Olathe (look it up on a map) since the WYCO bureau doesn't exist anymore. This is no loss. Losing Rick Alm was a loss. Weibe, Nicely before him, Fitz, et al are no loss because they gave us nothing of value.

Thoughtful Reporter - One who attempts to cover all the bases in order to prevent questioning the validity of the content.

Joy to work with - He'll say whatever I want and write whatever I want, whenever I want it.

""cash rules everything around me cream get the money, dolla dolla bills yall."

Simply put, Method Man knew that a dollar rules everything.

Translate - They're conservatives slaving to the liberal man. Sellouts? Yes, but hey... It's the economy stupid.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you can't name ONE managing editor at The Star. Why post something about which you know absolutely nothing?
