Idaho Statesman hiring part-time dock worker

The Idaho Statesman is looking for a part-time dock worker. From the announcement:

Description:

This exciting and important, part-time position offers an opportunity to work hands on with the Idaho Statesman newspaper. Duties include overseeing the loading dock procedures, activities, and operations. Assists with recruiting, contracting and training of independent contractors. The position requires occasional fieldwork including lifting bundles of newsprint up to 50 pounds frequently.

Requirements:


A successful candidate will have a high school education or equivalent, basic math and accounting skills, effective customer service skills, a current driver’s license, proof of insurance, reliable motor vehicle and good driving record. Prior dock or transportation experience is a plus. Work schedule is 15 hours per week based on business needs to include weekends and holidays. Shifts normally are Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 10:30 P.M. to 3:30 A.M., but may vary depending on scheduling. All offers of employment require successfully passing a pre-employment drug test.

Drug test? Of course there will be a drug test. Who would work that job on that schedule for that pay unless they were stoned, dude?

On the other hand, learning to move heavy objects from one point on the earths surface to another probably has greater career potential than a degree in journalism.
