If you were to look at these numbers over the past two years it would be over 35% circulation lost.
Anyone working at a newspaper should be very concerned about their job right now.
With these new circulation rates now official, the advertising rates for a full page, half page, etc are sure to reset at lower levels.
These new circulation rates are just a nail in the coffin. Expect another round of ad sales declining based on the new circulation numbers taking effect.
Gee, I can’t figure out why the steep decline? Let’s ask Mz. Sill. Mz Sill?
"It's just that darn economy"
and
"There's no dispute that The Bee has a liberal editorial page on most issues, though not all matters, and has mostly endorsed Democrats. We won't change our editorial philosophy to placate critics."
So Mz. Sill, which one is it?
Mz. Sill’s logic then dictates, since option “B” is non-negotiable, then it’s option “A”, swing in the wind until the economy gets better or Dear Leader bails them out.
Sounds like a great strategy, Mz. Sill.
She and Cheryl Dell don't have any idea how to "save" the newspaper. Their job is to make their big salaries and watch the ship sink, and they know it. Neither one of them has any credibility with their staff. Cheryl's secretary wouldn't even keep working for her, she's that out of touch with how to act like a human.
